Not only did they break up a sex ring involving underage girls when the team went to that motel, it broke open the case. Willie not only was having an affair with Jamie the trainer but was having sex with the girls at the motel, along with Rick Lind. Since he appeared to actually be the devoted husband and father, was this the real Willie or what he turned to because of the deterioration of his family life? Your thoughts?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Force really gave us very little on the "real" Willie. We never got to meet him as a character, but I think he was flawed person whose family saw him as a piggybank. Lots of people have crap families, but they don't use people around them and underage prostitutes.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree Anita. We don't know the "real" Willie.

Wander Franco, of the Tampa Bay Ray's is under investigation for allegations of relationships with underage girls. It was a surprise when it came out. Money makes some people think they are above the law.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Sad but true.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I agree. We didn't get to know the "real" Willie. But, I have to say I was disappointed with how his story turned out. I felt really bad for him when I thought he was a family man who make a simple mistake and ended up dead. After finding out that he was spending time with Jamie, and then with underage prostitutes, I didn't have much empathy for him.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Willie turned out to be a real slime and I feel sorry for his wife and children.

I cannot accept his new found fame and money or his family situation as an excuse for his abusing underage girls for sex. A person has to be fundamentally sick and twisted to do this - the real Willie was evil.

I felt more sympathy for Lind who was obviously suffering from manic-depression or some other mental / brain disorder. He needed help that he didn't get.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Good point Lauren. Lind needed help and no one did anything to help him.

I wanted Willie to be a good guy. I was disappointed when we found out he wasn't.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments A mother of a few sons in our town, who happened to own the hair salon where I got my hair cut, was bragging that her goal was to sleep with every single man on the professional baseball team nearest to us. Apparently, she already had a few notches in her gun.
I was appalled then, and it was close to thirty years ago.

At least she wasn't breaking up any marriages.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Oh, Lauren, I didn't mean that she was aiming at only single-as-in-unmarried, but every single one of the team, married or not.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Oh my! I wonder if any of the married men said no.
