Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Emma hadn't planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka.

It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected–including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

chapters 1-7

I love both of the characters! They are so cute and they really sound like good people! It is entertaining and immersive, too. I was pretty sad to put it down!
I loved the idea that all started with a thread on Reddit, I think it was my favorite part, and so far there are a lot of good things in there!
And the cottage on the island sounds like an amazing place to live in, even if maybe only for a bit. Living there permanently would be uncomfortable, I think, but just for a while? Amazing! (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 8 - 25
(view spoiler)[Neil being their "boss" at work was so unexpected!! And I have such a bad feeling here. I am not so optimistic toward Amber at all, and I am really sorry for Emma.
I also hope she would consider going to therapy again, too, because it helped her, for sure, but there is so much road to cover here!
And I am also sorry for Justin. He is a great guy, and things aren't really going so well for him. But he is lucky because his friends are pretty great!
And Maddy is a great friend too, I am enjoying her more and more!

Chapters 26-36
(view spoiler)[I am surprised by Neil but in the best possible way. I was scared that he and Amber would behave "badly" sooner than this, and so far I am relieved that they are still a thing (and, btw, Amber is problematic but Neil is too, but I am glad to see that he is trying to be a better person).
The scenes in which Justin and Emma are sick are pretty cliche, and it is not one of my favorite tropes, usually, but this time I didn't mind. It was pretty nice!
And I am really feeling sorry for Justin, because his life is not in a good place at the moment. I am sooo feeling sorry for him!
And I was surprised, a lot, when Emma told him that she decided to stay! I wasn't expecting it at all! (And obviously, this was the moment I had to stop to read, argh!!). But now I am scared because if she stays, and the book is not almost finished (because there are a lot of pages left) we will have a sort of break up between them??

I can't read your 2nd spoiler, but I agree with your first one.

(view spoiler)[I thought the way they met online and all of their bantering was so adorable. I would love a creative guy like Justin is...the pre-date questionnaire, for example. I love it! And, yes, they're both adorable! I love them both. I hope we get to find out more about his siblings, too. I normally love books where kids are involved.

I don't know if I missed it or what, but I want to know what his mom did that is making her go to jail.

Chapters 13-25

(view spoiler)[Jeez, what a sad situation both Emma had growing up and now Justin with his mom going to prison. SO SAD for the younger kids!

I love all of the characters, except I'm neutral towards Justin's mom and I like Emma's mom in a weird way...can't explain. I agree that Neil might be in for trouble with Amber. I don't think she's changed at all yet. I wonder if she really is going to a therapist.

Poor Emma wants that kiss SO bad! loll What a tease he is, but I love it! He is making her want it/him more and more. It's too cute. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 26-36

(view spoiler)[YES!!! Finally, she's staying!!! I LOVED this section where he took care of her and he was so nurturing and sweet. Every woman's perfect guy. I just love how thoughtful he was while she was sick.

I am starting to think maybe her mom will be okay, BUT that one woman warned them against Neil, so I'm worried about him possibly being no good now. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I am so sorry for Emma. I didn't see the part about Amber's past coming. At all. And this is an atrocious way to grow up. I am happy that she went to therapy and put in all the good work, she did Amazing! And I am also glad that she decided to distance herself from Justin and his family, even if it was hurtful as hell.
Maddy is an amazing friend, and I loved her as a character! (And I am happy she found love, too!). Emma's family sounds great, and I am really happy for her. And for Justin. I am so happy that they got their happily ever after because they both deserve it! And the proposal was genius!

I can just say DITTO to you final comments! I was so sad to see how unapologetic Amber was to Emma. What a horrible thing to do, and to keep all those family members from her. That was really unforgivable, but of course Emma forgave her. That doesn't mean she has to spend time with her though. And, yeah, she did the right thing by going off and getting therapy, etc. I'm glad they both got their happily ever after and that Emma loves the kids as well. Such a great book!
