The new issue of IthacaLit has two of my poems, "Dead in a Ditch" and "Traveling."

"Dead in a Ditch" I wrote recently for my as yet untitled MS of food-related poems. "Traveling" is from quite a few years ago, during my bout with cancer.

You can read them here: http://ithacalit.com/ruth-bavetta.htm...

I never know where to put this stuff. Where should it go?

Are people that much into Easter?

It's both Easter and Passover. Whether they're into it or not, they do a lot of family stuff because that's the way it's always been done. Two of my three bros come up tomorrow for dinner out. The other one's too far away, down in old Virginia (traitor).

Yes, in the Literary Shop Talk folder there's a thread called "Men in Bed" or some such. It's Ruth being naughty, which is why we like her around here.

Nice, brisk and sunny Easter morn here in New England.

Carol | 10410 comments Woke up with a touch of vertigo, so there I went, back to bed. No one here but the catties, and a couple of humans. Speaking of catties, we are the official suckers of the neighborhood. All the cats and their relatives come for dinner. I have no idea whose cats they are. It started with one , and has progressed to six. They multiply like bunnies.

Sharon (sharonstar) | 3392 comments Do you know what to do for vertigo if you have spinning?

message 14: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments I'll bite. No what? (Just take antivert)

Sharon (sharonstar) | 3392 comments Do you know the Epley maneuver? It's only to be used when you can produce spinning on the left or right when you lie down. It's for people who have BPPV -- benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, one of the most common types. If you get twinges of vertigo and can't produce the spinning when laying down with your head turned all the way to the side you think is the problem, then don't do the Epley. I've had vertigo off and on for years, and it was bad before the Epley was known. After doing the maneuver, you must sleep upright in a recliner or similar for 3 nights. You can recline, carefully, but can't lay flat and need to try to keep your head level for a few days -- no bending over to fetch things off the floor or looking up at the tops of trees or high shelves, etc. Maybe you have mild vertigo like my husband sometimes does, and the Eply won't work until it gets worse.

Sharon (sharonstar) | 3392 comments Carol, if you need to see a doc for this, go to an audiologist, usually part of an ENT physician office.

Carol | 10410 comments I have , it is positional, but today I think it is caused by my ears. Thanks for the information, will try it.
