I'll start!

When my son was just under 2 years old we went to Chile and pushed the limits of comfort by booking him as a lap infant. We were in a row of three seats and a woman in the aisle seat offered to move to a middle seat so that we could have the full row for the 11 hour flight. SO kind. She sacrificed her own comfort for total strangers and we ended up having a lovely conversation with her. I’ll never forget that kindness.

It was an overnight flight from New York and when we landed, We were amazed at how quiet the baby had been! We encouraged her to gather her things and go ahead of us as we disembarked. As she was waiting for the line to move, she hoisted the baby up on her shoulder. It started to wiggle and fuss and I remember thinking that the little fellow had no doubt had enough. Suddenly, the baby projectile vomited right in the face of a man still sitting patiently in his seat! We all gasped and the poor bedraggled mother wheeled around apologizing. The man was patiently wiping away as much of the throw up as possible and he actually smiled at the poor mother. He said, “please don’t worry about a thing. I have children and I completely understand.” The line of people started to move and the last thing we saw was the now smiling baby peering over the mother’s shoulder! Now that was undoubtedly a time when a stranger’s kind reaction made me smile!
