Mairead | 102 comments Hi,
I'm struggling to find my next book to read. at the moment I'm reading shiver, and it's really good, then i'm moving onto the time travellers wife. After that, I'm lost.
Could you give me some suggestions and maybe your thought on the books you suggest?

I'm really into fantasy books lately. Like Neil Gaiman, Suzanne Collins, Cassandra Clare, Charlaine Harris, Gregory Maguire, Stephenie Meyer (I like her, okay!)

Help is greatly appreciated.

Much love. Lawl!

Mazmum | 18 comments Have you read any Richelle Mead Mairead? If not, I can recommend her Subbubus series, its very good. Or to try something different give Michelle Rowen a go. Her books are rather amusing, so try the Immortality Bites series. I've just finished reading The Nightworld series by L J Smith. 9 books in total but bound in three copies. Nice easy reading books, think chicklit but paranormal rather than funny.

If you want something that isn't paranormal Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher is meant to be a very good read. Its on my tbr pile.

message 7: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) Ok, non vamp books... Hush, Hush was great, as was
The Summoning. They were both pretty original and Hush, Hush kept you guessing till the end. Books I haven't read yet but heard were great are Graceling and Magic Bites (the whole Kate Daniels series)

Even though they are vamp books, I would definitely recommend The Morganville Vampires also!

Mazmum | 18 comments Oh and any chicklit by Jill Mansell, she is fab!

message 12: by Mairead (new)

Mairead | 102 comments I thought size twelve is not fat by meg cabot was very good. Just the right amount of crappy chick-lit, and hilarity! and a little mystery thrown in for good measure.
the gift by Danielle Steele is really good. Sad, but lovely.
The secret life of bees by Sue Monk Kidd is quite good, The lovely bones, The girl with the dragon tattoo (it's effed up though) or..............The devil wears prada, bitchy fun!

Mazmum | 18 comments The film is based on the book, although I intentionally read the book before I watched the film, so can't say if doing it the other way around detracts at all. I wept buckets at the end of the book. It was the first time I had read a book and it made me cry. I think it was wonderful and would recommend it to anybody.

Hira (ohthenovelty) | 2 comments Shadow and Bone, and Graceling. Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore Both books are similar, considering that both have a heroine as the main character, and that both heroines' live in a world where humans having unnatural abilities or talents is taken into consideration. The difference between the two, is that the heroine in Graceling is a complete bada** and the heroine in Shadow and Bone is very much on the weak side. But both books are wonderful, marvelous, terrific, magnificent, etc; I recommend them highly to anyone who enjoys trilogys.
