Valerie Brown | 3263 comments Adam Shoalts does his exploration by canoe. He has 3 books that fit the bill. I enjoy his writing.

Lizzy The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, and I am guessing also James by Percival Everett. Of course, they were not in a canoe, but definitely paddling was involved.
