Pip | 1822 comments I have read 17, I think. I am interested in Conversations in Sicily, having just visited there, and being interested in anti-Fascism

I’ve read 26 of them. I have Indigo and God Bless You, Mr Rosewater on the shelf. I will check Hoopla and LIbby and Audible Play to see which others might be available and of course I will add to the randomized.

I've read 24 so far, but only slim pickings available on my TBF shelves:

- The Garden Where The Brass Band Played (Vestdijk; it is also on my randomized list)

I'd also be happy to provide support for Decline and Fall by Waugh, the only one I haven't read yet from him.

message 5: by Pamela (last edited May 16, 2024 06:21AM) (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 592 comments I’ve read 19, quite a high number for me thanks to Waugh and Wells. I’d like to read Indigo or The Optimist’s Daughter.

message 6: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Dawn | 1679 comments I've got 2 I haven't read this time (The Quest and Simplicissimus) and will split votes between those 2.

message 7: by Jane (new)

Jane | 369 comments The Optimist's Daughter sounds good, and I haven't read Eudora Welty since college.

message 8: by Rosemary (new)

Rosemary | 715 comments I've read 28 and I don't possess any of the others. I will probably check what is in the library and split my vote for the randomizer.

message 9: by George P. (new)

George P. | 725 comments I've read about half of these, including all the Vonneguts and four of the HG Wells. Only a couple more are in the next couple hundred in my personal to-read list: Froth on the Daydream and Memoirs of a Peasant Boy. I'm unsure what to vote for at this point.

message 10: by Gail (new)

Gail (gailifer) | 2173 comments I have read 19 of these but only one HG Wells and one Waugh, which was not Decline and Fall. I have read The Optimist's Daughter and Indigo but neither of the ones that Amanda has not yet read. I may vote for Decline and Fall or Simplicissimus. Froth of the Daydream sounds interestingly bizarre too.

Nike | 98 comments I've forgotten - the ones which are labelled "excluded from randomizer', we can't vote for those right?

You can, if you think it can get nominated by popular vote. It is only excluded from being placed into the randomized. For example; If you wanted to cast 5 votes (if you have them) then you might have a chance to win the popular vote.

message 13: by Anne (new)

Anne Kimzey | 3 comments I'll vote for The Optimist's Daughter.

George P. | 725 comments I think I'm going to scatter votes between Ancestral Voices and Froth on the Daydream- maybe will get lucky with randomizer.

Voting is closed and what will we be reading in July?

Popular vote went to Decline and Fall - by Evelyn Waugh.

And the randomizer chose Indigo - Marina Warner.

What will you be reading in July.

message 17: by Gail (new)

Gail (gailifer) | 2173 comments I will be reading Decline and Fall . I have read Indigo but have plenty to read as I am behind on Joseph. If Amanda wants to run a buddy read, I would be interested.

message 18: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 592 comments I will be reading Indigo as I’ve read Decline and Fall. One BOTM works well for me alongside the TBR, randomised reading list and keyword challenge - plenty of variety!

message 19: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Brown | 884 comments I've read Indigo, and am interested in Decline and Fall. At the moment though, I feel like I can't make a decision about July reading..... I'm still working away on Mason and Dixon (~70% read) and that is filling up the reading portion of my brain! :)

I am so behind on Joseph that I suspect I won’t get it done this year. There has been too many lengthy and not easy to read books, also less available audios so its more than I can handle this year. I really wanted to read Joseph.

I have Indigo so I will read that. I’ve already read Decline and Fall. So I will be trying to get Mason & Dixon started and finished in the last days to this quarter.

message 21: by Pip (new)

Pip | 1822 comments I haven’t even started Joseph, but as I have read both Q3 & Q4 books and the end is in sight with Mason and Dixon, I will aim to read Indigo. I also have read Decline and Fall.

I have read Decline and Fall already. I too am behind with Mason and Dixon. I need to catch up before I look at July.

message 23: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Dawn | 1679 comments Since Gail brought it up, I am down to run a buddy read. if so would people prefer The Quest or Simplicissimus?

message 24: by Gail (new)

Gail (gailifer) | 2173 comments The Quest please if others do not mind. Thank you Amanda

message 25: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Dawn | 1679 comments sounds good, buddy read of The Quest it is:)

message 26: by Rosemary (last edited May 27, 2024 02:59PM) (new)

Rosemary | 715 comments I've just ordered Indigo from eBay. So I'll be reading that!

message 27: by George P. (new)

George P. | 725 comments I read Decline and Fall a year and a half ago. I'm going to pass on Indigo, so I'll work on other books in my to-read list.

Amanda Dawn | 1679 comments Just remembered I signed up to do a buddy read of 'the Quest'... are there any folks who are planning to read it with me this month still?

I did pick up a Kindle copy of it but I doubt that I will have time to participate but I am sure someone said that they would. I posted it for you.
