Harmeet | 9 comments Hello authors!

I’m Harmeet. I'm an experienced beta reader. I have a keen eye for detail and strive to help authors tell the best story possible.

I love seeing people’s creativity, especially being a writer myself. I’d love to hype you up and also give you suggestions on how to improve your book. I'll write inline comments, giving you reader reactions and suggestions. I'll answer all the questions you have about your manuscript. Additionally, I’ll make a detailed reader’s report.

I accept these genres: Romance (all sub-genres including Dark Romance), Contemporary, Young Adult, Thriller, Psychological Thriller, Horror, Sci-fi, and Fantasy. If you're unsure whether your book falls into these categories, please send me your blurb, and I'll let you know. I’m willing to read something out of my comfort zone as well.

My standard charges (USD):
$0.001 per word or $5 per 5,000 words.

Please reach out at harmeetkhera0@gmail.com
Happy writing! :)

Kassie | 10 comments I hired Harmeet as a beta reader and was extremely satisfied with the results. She answered all my beta reader questions in a very detailed fashion and gave a separate detailed reader's report. What I loved about her report is she detailed everything as a reader, not an editor, so it made it so much easier for me to see how an average reader would react to my story. I also really appreciate how I told her to see if my ending wasn't rushed and she made sure to include that analysis in her report. That made me very happy. She didn't try to change anything about my story and just responded as a reader would, even if she had some critcisms. It was so refreshing.

What also made me happy was the fact she read over my detailed email on how my story structure isn't western, and she did research on my structure to get familiar with it and my story. That meant a lot to me. She put in the extra work herself and made me feel very good about my novel.

I think she would make a great beta reader at any stage of the beta reading process, but personally I used her on my last stages and I think she was absolutely perfect for the role. Her report was straight to the point, covered important details without being overwhelming, and was very organized. She was my last beta reader I got feedback from and it was great to end my beta reading journey on such a good note. She also offered a quick turnaround for my massive novel which was also something I was pleased with in my last stages.
I recommend hiring her if you want an authentic reader experience that doesn't overwhelm or try to change your story, just responds to it.

Thank you so so much, Kay! All the best with your novel! I'm glad I could contribute to your creative process.

Harper Kennedy | 2 comments Harmeet responded to my novel by giving her feedback on the manuscript as a whole in both a Beta reader copy, as well as summary comments chapter by chapter. The latter was especially useful and no other Beta reader did this. What was helpful is that in her first read-through, she responded as someone simply reading, with mostly gut reactions. Her chapter by chapter report was done ore as a Beta reader, quite detailed and well thought-out, offering me different routes for the story to take, characterization, plot, motivation, pacing, what to cut, etc.

I found her feedback invaluable and recommend Harmeet as a Beta reader,

W. Michael | 30 comments Hi Harmeet. . I have an 85K word historical fiction mystery thriller I would like your honest feedback on. The manuscript, MANCUSO: Termination Wind) will be the second in a series. Rocco Mancuso, a thirty something ivy league attorney works for the US Atomic Energy Commission catching atomic spies. It is a Cold War novel (1964-65) set in Washington, DC and various secret Atomic Energy Commission weapons sites across the USA. Mancuso has issues. Faced with a broken marriage, low self-esteem due to a disfiguring childhood knife scar from his right eye to his jaw, and a boss who exploits and humiliates him, Mancuso takes refuge in breaking up Russian and Pakistani spy rings across the country by day and drinking a few beers at night. He sees no future in his dead end job and sometimes hopes one of the assassins his enemies sends will be successful. Then his life takes a turn for the worse when an assignment puts him in the sights of Senator Rex Rettig and his psychopathic but brilliant son, Dr. Ty Rettig. The Rettig’s will stop at nothing to achieve their goals and Mancuso’s assignment requires him to make an impossible life or death decision. Please advise regarding your interest and availability.

Harmeet | 9 comments Your story deserves more than polite and boring “I liked it” comments. You need detailed, honest feedback that pinpoints exactly where readers get hooked, where pacing starts to drag, which characters they will connect with, and which scenes could be unforgettable with the right adjustments.

For the month of August, I am offering a FREE beta read of your first two chapters. You will receive detailed, actionable feedback on reader engagement, pacing, tone, flow, character connection, and any early red flags for plot or clarity.

If you are satisfied with my feedback style, you will receive 20% off a full-manuscript beta read booked this month.

I have a background in line editing and proofreading, which means I can address both story-level and sentence-level issues. My feedback is constructive, specific, and tailored to your genre and target audience. I work with a variety of genres including fantasy, romance, and thrillers, and my goal is always to help you produce the strongest version of your work.

Your feedback report will include chapter-by-chapter notes highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, suggestions for tightening pacing and building tension, comments on worldbuilding, dialogue authenticity, and character depth, as well as reader-perspective questions that show where your audience may crave more.

❗️Limited Slots: I take only 3–4 authors per month so I can give each book my full attention. Once slots fill, this deal closes.

Bonus: Includes light proofreading to catch distracting typos or grammar slips at no additional cost.

Harmeet,

I deleted your comment but was mistaken and wanted to apologize. It's September and you are allowed to bump your post. I was confused. Sorry about that!
