What'd you think of the trilogy? Overrated? Amazing?

I thought book 1 was alright. Having read it two years ago, I can't provide many examples, but I do remember liking the blue haired stylist a lot. I feel the other characters could have used more building, but it was a 1st person book and also just the 1st out of 3.

When I first read them, I wasn't that happy. However, I just reread them, and I have to admit that they're pretty amazing! I actually read the entire trilogy in 4 days, because I couldn't bear to put any of them down. The world-building is excellent, and the characters are memorable.

I did have a problem with the whole love triangle between Katniss, Gale, and Peeta. Gale was OBVIOUSLY the hotter guy, and he and Katniss had been hunting together for years, so they really knew each other well. Peeta, on the other hand, was generous to her once, and has had a schoolboy crush on her ever since. I just don't think Suzanne Collins played out those characters' relationships to each other very well. I would have loved it if Gale had been in love with Katniss since the very beginning, but had kept it secret from her; or, if Gale turned out to be a complete jerk and Peeta helped Katniss in her sorrow after it. All I know is, if I was Katniss, I would not have made her final decision in Mockingjay. Ever.

Rebecca, I completely agree! Katniss bugged me so much by the end of the series.
