This was a good debut cozy mystery that wasn't totally predictable and broke away from many of the common things we see in them. For one thing--not a spoiler--it's one of Win's best friends that wants to be an amateur sleuth and starts dragging Win along.
Win is asked by her grandfather to manage her late grandmother's ice cream store and has spent months renovating it and working getting it back to its original intention. By the time she's able to open, months later than anticipated, it's in October and there is an early snow storm on opening day. As the blurb mentions, she stumbles on a dead body and ends up helping to solve the mystery of who did it. There are some good twists in this. I can't say that I liked all of the characters or that they are deep, but then it's a cozy mystery so one doesn't expect deep :)
