Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I have an 11th gen Kindle Paperwhite and last night was the 4th time I opened it to find my library (sorted: downloaded, unread books) gone. Library is empty. WTF?! Each time, I'm able to just re-add them from Amazon, but what a PITA hassle. Wondering what, if anything, I did or can do to avoid it.

Y'all had this issue? Amz's help section is ridiculously basic and didn't address this specifically.

Victoria (nemerith) | 1200 comments Huh, that's super annoying :( :(
I hope you got all the books back like they were before! Did you still have them in the Kindle content view on Amazon itself, at least, or were they gone there as well?

I still have an old 7th gen, though I'm considering getting a new one later this year.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Right?! 😠

I did. It's not difficult re-adding them, just time consuming when you have a lot of them on there, which I tend to (being a mood reader). All of my books still show up on Amz's "content and device" page and most even show as on my Kindle device, even though they're not. Which never made sense.

I seem to kill every Kindle I get. They always last several years, but somehow end up crashing beyond "just reboot it". Amz is usually very good about just sending me a replacement, if within a certain time frame. But, mostly it's a good excuse to upgrade. 😉
