Hi

After a few PM's re how to find certain topics, and answer some questions to help you our members go to the right place.

I will try my best to explain a few things we do, and why !

Some new members have asked about A BOTM, so let me explain, as we do things a little different, and it is this way as most members have agreed and voted this way.

We DO NOT have a BOTM every month why, well as a group we are one of the most successful groups for Q & A authors, so we pick these as our BOTM to go with the time of their questions.

Also lots of members join in our BOOK PAL, another section where you add your name each month and Autumn will match you up with a different members/book pal to choose books for each other.

Also in another section we have PICK IT FOR ME, here you add your own choice of books (5 or 10)that you have and then let the members vote for your book for a month, and you read the most voted book for the month.

We also have a great section set up by Autumn, where we add the pages of a book we just finished to our own total for the year, and also to the whole group.

We have authors section, where authors can promote, and only here, we have a Q & A's section for future and former authors posts which you can read.

We have a general folder, with lots of open discussion of the weather, what you are doing and so on.. and also our popular "The Hot Seat" where members answers questions from other members.

Music folders, and film folders, and a games section.

To me, please always start in the Introduction page and say hello.

We will not bite, we will help, sometimes members do place a comment in the wrong place, we just let you know and move it.

I have 30-40 PM per day asking where to place comments, reviews, books etc, so do not be worried to ask.

We Are Here To HELP YOU

Marion Coro | 2 comments Is there a place to point out what you consider to be an error? And could the place be near where the error appears so that it will be clear why you're posting it? This isn't about nitpicking, but I saw a book listed as the sequel to another. Given the events that occurred in the books mentioned, the "sequel" can't possibly be considered such. I don't know if it was a simple matter of confusing the titles or having gotten events confused.

It is fine just to reply on the same thread.

P.K. Davies | 549 comments Sean, I apologise for revising such an old thread, but I have searched diligently and not found where I can put a couple of questions. So I'll try here;
1. If I want to organise a giveaway, how does it work. How do I organise either the downloads for e-books or the postage for paper-backs?
2. If I want to upload a cover pic with my blurb of my book under promos or review requests, how would I go about that?
Sorry to be such a freshman pain.
Thanks for any help.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Hi P.K.

We have a promotion section. Here is the main folder for it and you can post what you need under whichever topic you need to. Hope this helps.

P.K. Davies | 549 comments Thanks Lorrea. I did see the promote section and will use it (sparingly) but I don't think it answers my technical questions does it?

P.K. Davies | 549 comments Hi Sean and Lorrea. I think I have now found answers to my questions under the Help Topic folder. I'm sorry to have bothered you all with the question;

Yes, well said Lorrea...

Great that you ask first....

One author, had added his book to the bottom of our home page, without asking...

More respectful to ask first...

We will always try to help...

P.K. Davies | 549 comments Hi Sean, Lorrea. Coming back for more info. I do know how to follow the leads for giveaways but I want to give some paperbacks away for reviews, specifically for our group. Do I just add the details to the Promo section or should I post an alert somewhere else? Also, how does the exchange of contact details work; do I disclose my email in the column?
Thanks for your patience and time.

We have these features in the authors section, where you can add your giveaway.

Best not to add your e-mail, ask members to send their e-mail to you

P.K. Davies | 549 comments Thanks Sean. Sorry for being stupid, but how do members send their e-mail to me without me saying what my e-mail is - or do you guys do that in the sweatshop?

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) P.K. Make sure your profile is public and members will be able to send you message through Goodreads when they click on your name.

P.K. Davies | 549 comments Thanks Lorrea. I think it is but I will double-check

Jeffrey Bingham | 7 comments Sean,

I'm sure where to post this. However, in comments above, you mention several folders. I can't find any of those folders. I'm sure they must be somewhere??? Could you provide a tutorial on how to navigate around the Good Thrillers site?
