Excited for Blood Kiss or do you think that doing this type of a spin-off to Black Dagger Brotherhood will just run the original series into the ground by dragging it out?

Do you think the first book to the series Blood Kiss will be any good?

Fingers crossed it is any good. And in general want to see what it going down with Butch. Have missed hearing about him and Marissa.

same. im really interested in finding out about that new char Paradise and who her luv interest is gonna be too. i luv how ward is actually gonna make our fave old chars big focuses in the books too tho

Oh, I think it said in the blurb her love interest will be one of her school friends, Craeg something or other. Mhmm, I just don't want the old characters to rain all over the main couple*looking at you V, get that ass to Mary, and not going postal all over someone else's time. Thank you very much*.

Yea, who can resist a good thing right? Or should say a new thing from Ward. I mean I give her props for being able to write so well. Just, I hope she has learned from some of her pitfalls is all with BDB.

No kidding. And for damn sure NOT Paradise! I mean this is the first chick allowed in the school that gets to learn how to fight and no doubt could be a younger Payne or Xhex like character. I would HATE to see her pass into obscurity. That is why more than anything I'm actually thinking that Ward should have done a spin-off female dominated series. With Nala leading the charge! And to really challenge Ward to get over her bias in writing female characters.

From what I've seen so far of Paradise, I think she has some potential to be a interesting character. But I swear that the way Ward wrote her in the Shadows, I didn't feel like she had nearly enough personality or life. She and the Princess were rather static and bit players. Even though they had just as many scenes as the other characters. They still didn't really leap off the page at all. But as I said, hopefully by the time her book comes around hopefully*fingers crossed* Paradise comes into her own.

was gonna say that maybe its bc shes new and her book isnt out yet where she'll be the lead of it but u said that there was as many scenes as the other characters o_o. hope so too. who knows, its still possible that it could be just a tiny look at her char so to speak maybe :I. hope shes better in her book tho XD

Yea, but even being new Assail came in with a swagger and persona even if it was somewhat like Rhev's, it still leapt off the page. But I guess cause of her role and as she will be getting her own book Ward didn't want to give much away about her. But still....

yeah ud still think that there would be more of her leaping out of the page as u put it. if even a tiny bit. hopefully paradise's book goes good otherwise that would really suck. LOL itd be pretty bad if ppl didnt care at all about the new lead chars and only cared about the side chars (the old ones from the old books) -dead-

Hells yes, most especially when even Fritz has more personality than she doest at the moment, lol(and you will totally love him in the Shadows, Fritz can get down with the best of em. ;)). Haha, form some pre-reviews I've seen of the book. They already care MORE about the original characters. Even to the point they don't want relationship drama for Butch and Marissa and more of a possible Butch and Manny finding their dad. I'm just over mental breakdown drama in general. So be great if there was some other stuff going on.

Exactly. If everyone had junk going on, makes you wonder how in the hell is anybody getting ANYTHING done. And even more reason for Mary to be at home. She'd need to open up one of those Psychiatrist is in stands like Lucy from the Peanuts, lol. But yea most speculate too that it could be Butch having a issue with Marissa being at safe place a whole lot too. I wouldn't mind so much, if Ward learned how to actually incorporate some of that in the story too so it would be a more connected change of POV, than throwing in the kitchen sink of every and anybody having something to say that isn't always relating to what is going on.

That is such a hard one for me to answer. Cause I naturally came into it griping lol. I was soo resistant to believing or thinking this other series would be as good as the beloved AG's work. So I guess with that way of thinking I still kind of have to say I truly don't know. Because there are some parts I liked better over others in each book really. But as a whole I can't say the first books were any better than the last.

Most especially given the fact that since book 1 I thought this was a total UF series. But some other peeps I yack with, said it started out as PNR then later went UF. And I NEVER even equated that with this series at all to be honest. Yes there is romance, action, suspense, etc. But PNR it was Never. So I think in general, I just think of this series as a roller coaster ride. Some are better than others for most info and others aren't do to how Ward handles particular situations.

What do you think?

AG? same, there are some parts that i liked better than in the other books

hm.... idk. there are some books from the beginning that i would def favor but there things that i liked and disliked in diff books in the series.

Author Goddess a.k.a SK. ;) But yea, I've never been able to say a whole book was a fave with this series. Be interesting if it ever happens though.

OH! haha i dont think any other author will top SK for u sis unless someone comes along later on down the road. she's ur absolute fave.

So very true, so very true. Be different if more actually wrote with real emotion and understanding of how the world works at times. Not just the happy, joy, joy moments. But the moments where you are thinking you are at your best level or self and still someone kicks you down. Or better yet you just don't come from any means at all. As so many stories kind of "play" at those things and I can't connect as well. But with SK it's genuine. Cause I think she has really been there at times to fully get it, ya know?

I might eventually. For now you don't know how much of a happy dance I've done since finishing the Shadows. Working on just 20 chapters, woot! Just weirdly enough I think the author got bit by the Estep bug as there is some repetition over no big deal stuff so far. Hopefully it goes away as I go along.
