After Lancel Graham abducted Connor and Lanny, he gave Connor a phone supposedly from Mel. While both children are conflicted about their father, do you think it was obvious that Connor was the most vulnerable and the reason why he was chosen? Would Lanny have turned it over? Did you understand the reason why Connor didn’t?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Lanny had a tough shell and being older, understood more than Connor about what happened. Connor was a smart kid, but he just didn't want to believe that his dad was as bad as his mom said. He was definitely the more vulnerable. I think that Lanny would have turned over the phone. Mel had been good to Connor, even if it was benign neglect, but Connor idolized that time and wanted Mel to tell him it just wasn't true.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Connor was in denial about his father. Everyone was telling him what a horrible man his father is, but he remembers someone else...someone who was good to him.
