Witty banter is a lively, intelligent, and humorous, conversation technique often used in flirting. You may also decide on a book with a particular character who could be described as “witty,” a memoir by a comedian, an overall witty writing style by the author, etc.

Which book will you be reading for this prompt?

I'm either reading The Importance of Being Earnest (Oscar Wilde) or Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (Mindy Kaling)

Just finished Letters from Skye by Jessica Brockmole. There is plenty of banter, even though, with an epistolary novel, it takes weeks for the characters. As far as whether I liked it or not, definitely a yes.

It's not out until July, but if Slow Dance follow the path of every other Rainbow Rowell book, there will be witty dialogue to spare.

I'm re-reading Good Omens for this.

My choice for this prompt is Bossypants by Tina Fey

I'll be silly and read Dr Seuss – Hop on Pop

I was already in the middle of reading My Man Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse, so that fit very neatly into this prompt.

I'm reading Seven Days in June by Tia Williams. It's also my choice for a book published by Hachette for the main challenge.

Nothing will ever beat Pride and Prejudice for me when it comes to banter. Rereading it this time in Spanish for an extra challenge.

I read An Assassination on the Agenda, a serial mystery set in the early 1900's with two women who worked for the British Secret Service. One is gentry and the other is her ladies maid. They are a hoot.

I read In the Middle of Hickory Lane by Heather Webber

I listen to Cajun Justice by James Patterson and Tucker Axum. Not only did have witty banter but the main character is in Japan and studies how to fight with swords. Also has revenge.

I read Why We Read: On Bookworms, Libraries and Just One More Page Before Lights Out by Shannon Reed. The author is funny!

Listened to the audiobook "De Duivelse Jungle" (The devilish jungle). It tells to story of Serpentia, a demonic king cobra escaped from the underworld. Serpentia heads to the village of Schemermeer and turns it into a jungle, changing the inhabitants into wild animals. De Nachtwacht, formed by vampire Vlad, fairy Keelin and werewolf Wilko, lives in Schemermeer in order to protect the village from evil. They overcome Serpentia by setting up a trap and using spells. The dialogues between Vlad and Wilko are always filled with banter. Loved the story.

I read Starter Villain by John Scalzi.
Great book, easy read while on vacation. I would describe it as Ocean's 11 meets The Incredibles.

I listened to Weirdo by Sara Pascoe, narrated by the author. I love her comedy & TV/podcasts & this book was funny, thought provoking, sad, everything! I loved it.

I read The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren. This was a chance meeting by mistakenly sent email romance - so it is just filled with banter that I enjoyed.
