Sam discovers from Darren Tabor that Nick was offered to replace Gooding as Vice President but turned it down. He’s asked by the President to reconsider after concessions were made for Sam. Were you surprised she gave him the okay? Your thoughts about him now being VP and what comes next?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I know this is fiction, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around a brand new Senator being picked as the nation's VP. He's only been a known politician for a year. No one moves up that fast.

I'm not surprised that Sam told him to go for it. She got the considerations of not having to quit her job or accept secret service protection. She wants him to be happy and she knows he will be good at the job.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1801 comments I've said this before ... this plot thread is nonsensical and defies belief.

Force is trying so hard to arrange it so that Nick can be VP and Sam can remain a detective that she is manipulating characterization in order to do it. Sam's agreement is an example of this.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments This is so unbelievable to me. Nick shouldn't be in Congress let alone VP. This plot line drives me crazy. Seriously, in this day in age, who would allow the VPs wife to be a cop. There are so many scenarios that could happen to put people in government in dange.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I agree with everyone. It defies reality. Sam gets to continue her life the way she wants to.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1801 comments Force playing fast and loose with reality and common sense it a huge reason this series is averaging 3 stars for me. It has such potential but it is missing the mark.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I agree, Lauren. Ignoring things that are just basic to both police work and politics just jars me out of the flow of the story and I'm focused on that instead of the plot. The redeeming aspect of this series is that Force can spin a very good mystery plot and write it well.

Yes, the mysteries are keeping me going and I am also very invested in the secondary characters.
