Leslie Ann | 391 comments I finish ed chapter 1-3. I am enjoying the relationship between Charlie and Andy. The opening chapter was very suspenseful. (view spoiler) King is a little long winded as usual but he writes so well, I tend to over look this.

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) | 1347 comments Yes, I hear you. I have a love/hate relationship with his books. But there is no denying the man can write.

Indeed, who is in that green car?

I have read up to chapter 13 so far. I like how the book is flicking between present day and the past to give us an idea of who Andy is and what has happened to him. Charlie is adorable so far, and it sounds like they have a hard life together just trying to stay safe.

Leslie Ann | 391 comments Charlie is adorable and I too like the switching back and forth.

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) | 1347 comments I read a few more chapters tonight, are you also getting X-Men vibes like me? That LSD obviously had a little more ingredients in it, than just hallucinogenics.

Leslie Ann | 391 comments I read a little more too. Yes on the x-men. Since this was written in the 1980’s I wonder if the writers of X-men got some of their ideas from this book. It is interesting to read older books and see how they influence newer works. The saying in the movie industry is that there are no new ideas ,just re-worked ones. I do think that there are still new ideas but definitely old works influence new ones.

Yes, you might be right. I didn't think of that.

Strange how Stephen Kings books however old, still feel really modern and current and like they were written yesterday. They don't seem to age like other books.

It is amazing how many horror movies or other books have been based on It by Stephen King . Pennywise is still the stuff of nightmares for me.

Leslie Ann | 391 comments Have you read IT? I is one of my favorites. Pennywise has caused many people to be afraid of clowns!

Yes, many times. It is one of my favourites too :)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) | 1347 comments Who are these people from 'The Shop' they are horrible. Using torture and manipulation to get what they want. (view spoiler)
Poor Charlie and Andy. I bet he now wishes he hadn't been desperate for that $200.

(view spoiler)

I am not sure what chapter I am on at the moment as they seem to be broken up in to sub headings instead of numbers, but my Kindle reads 43%. Are you enjoying it so far?

Leslie Ann | 391 comments I am listening on Audible. Not sure where I am either. My audible says I have 4 hours left. Things are not looking good for our hero’s. I am enjoying the book. Currently I would say it ‘s not my favorite SK book but not bad. I think my all time favorite books are the Bill Hodges trilogy with Holly.

Does King do the narration? love it when an author does their own.

Yes not my favourite either but I am enjoying it so far. Some of it seems to be a bit long winded.

Leslie Ann | 391 comments No, not this one. It looks like I will finish today..

I have just finished.

Leslie Ann | 391 comments Just finished

How did you find it? I enjoyed it, but found it a bit long winded in places. I am not sure about the ending, I thought we were going to get a bit more of a finale.

Leslie Ann | 391 comments I enjoyed it also. It was long winded , as the usual SK is novel. I thought the ending was rather abrupt.
Thanks for buddy reading with me.
