Play Book Tag discussion

My overwhelming feeling as I was reading this book was sadness about how people used to have to live their lives, hiding who they were, and making choices that impacted other people negatively because of their fear of being discovered. Whilst I didn’t find any of the characters particularly likeable, I did feel for all three, but especially Patrick. Although Marion’s actions were incredibly selfish, I understood where she was coming from, and why she did what she did, and I felt very sorry for her when her hope was crushed early on in her marriage. We never actually see any of the action from Tom’s point of view, or hear his side of the story, and I think this book could have been more interesting if we heard from all three main characters, rather than just the two who loved Tom.
