Grace and Hope are identical twin sisters born with the ability to time-cross together between 1692 Salem, Massachusetts, and 1912 New York City. As their twenty-fifth birthday approaches, they will have to choose one life to keep and one to leave behind forever--no matter the cost.

In 1692, they live and work in their father's tavern, where they must watch helplessly as the witch trials unfold in their village, threatening everyone. With the help of a handsome childhood friend, they search for the truth behind their mother's mysterious death, risking everything to expose a secret that could save their lives--or be their undoing.

In 1912, Hope dreams of becoming one of the first female pilots in America, and Grace works as an investigative journalist, uncovering corruption and injustice. After their parents' orphanage is threatened by an adversary, they enter a contest to complete a perilous cross-country flight under the guidance of a daring French aviator.

The sisters have already decided which timeline they will choose, but an unthinkable tragedy complicates the future they planned for themselves. As their birthday looms, how will they determine the lives--and loves--that are best for both of them?

I may pop in to the discussion. This novel is on my short list.

Missy | 935 comments I will probably join in this one for July.

MissyTexas | 248 comments I am excited to start reading this third book in series, expecting to begin reading next weekend. Then will take at least a week, maybe two to read.

I'm looking forward to reading this one. I will probably not be starting until early August though. I didn't have as much 'awake time' in hospital to read as anticipated. LOL

I'm starting this one tonight!

MissyTexas | 248 comments Yea. I started last weekend, but this week did not allow much reading, only about a third read at this point, but have some of the weekend to read more.

MissyTexas | 248 comments Love the message of this series, that we wind up where we are suppose to be with his guidance through our choice, for us each individually. The book brought me much comfort after personal topsy-turvy emotional week. The books in the series keep getting better and better, very skillful writing to engage the reader in the personalized stories around historical moments that we normally would rarely think about.

I hope the others reading book three found it as good to read as well. Xo

Like you, Missy, I find I'm enjoying this series more and more as it goes along . . . and that's saying something!
I'm still kinda processing the twists and turns that the story took, and wondering how it will ultimately connect to the 4th book in the series.
Will pop back in when I have my thoughts sorted out.😊

MissyTexas | 248 comments The ebook copy I read had the first chapter of the next book in the back…

How did you like that each twin told story of one timeline, then switched?

I tend not to read first chapters of the next book in the series if they're in the back . . . especially if the next book is yet to be published. (I get too antsy for the publication. lol)
I actually thought the way she did that was really good . . . that we, ultimately, were able to see both women's thoughts about both timelines.

MissyTexas | 248 comments This is the first series that was not fully published to last novel that I have started. You mentioned interest in knowing the tie to the next novel from this one. Appears to change linage, with the introduction of the others from this volume, but with only one chapter who is to say.

I was glad as well that the story was told directly from one twin for each time period. I listen to audio, whisper link, while reading the ebook, same voice for both.

The love interest dynamic resolved generally as expected. Both plane incidents were scary, but Hope’s first flying was exciting.

I was surprised that the future family did not recap, after research, all the details on how the past family lived out their days. I want to go back and read the Libby connection on that one day…
