The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 12 - Nothing Good Happens After Midnight - Signups Closed!
Date Tasks:
At the beginning of each date, one of the tasks for that week's letter will be randomly selected. The letters will be used in order. You will need to read a book that meets the task requirements, as well as the other requirements listed above, to complete the task.

L is for Loud - Read a book that is available as an audio edition.
L is for Loyal - Read a book by an author that has written at least 10 books on your 'read' shelf.
O is for Obtuse - As in triangle. Read a book that is part of a trilogy.
O is for Oh Boy - Read a book book with a single male model on the cover.
O is for Olympian - Read a sports romance.

❤️You will need make a new post for your completions.❤️ If you update a prior post, i.e., if you saved posts for your completions, they will be missed when I do the accounting for each date. Make sure your books count - make a new post!
❤️Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only!❤️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book.
❤️If corrections are requested, REPOSTS ARE REQUIRED!❤️ If I request a correction for a page count or qualifier for example, you must repost your Completion Post or your book will not be counted!
Although you will not need to make selection posts like in the PtP, your teammates might like ideas for what to read so sharing what you are reading could be very helpful. If you choose to make selections posts, make sure they are clearly identified as such. If you have any question if your book qualifies, it would be better to find out before you read it - ask your teammates or in the Q&A/Announcement thread.
DO NOT DELETE COMMENTS OR POSTS! Even if your book doesn't qualify or you are asked for corrections, do not delete your comment. Deleted comments will confuse the tracking and may lead to books being missed! If you wish, you may strike through your comment using < s > ... < /s > without the spaces, but do not delete the comment or post!
Completion PostsWhen making your completion posts, remember you must include how the book/s qualify. If the task states, for example (and this is just an example!):
A is for Athlete - Read a sports romance.
Saying 'the hero is a runner' or 'MC is an athlete' doesn't qualify the book. Using 'précis states that hero is a football player' or 'tagged sports by 7 people' does qualify the book. Remember that links are required for lists, tags and different editions.
Also, when using the cover as the qualifier, post the cover image in your completion.
Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Remember, books can NOT be tagged or added to lists after the date begins!
Also, books can NOT be started before the date begins!
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
❤️❤️ REMINDER OF CHANGES TO THE BACHELOR TEAM CHALLENGE!! ❤️❤️🌹 The minimum page count for this challenge has been changed to 100 pages!! Remember this challenge uses the first edition Kindle page count ONLY!
🌹 For this round there will not be a 'Romantic Getaway' date! There will be no two week date in this round. So this round will only last 8 weeks. I suspect this may repeat in the future, particularly during the summer round. I will still use the 'Romantic Getaway' around the holidays though.
🌹 Players will now be eliminated if they fail to complete the task for two cumulative dates. Previously players were eliminated if they failed to complete the task for two consecutive dates.
🌹 Anthologies are no longer allowed for the Longest Date Rose. Anthologies have been added to the exclusions for Longest Date Rose along with Boxed Sets.
❤️❤️ TIPS ❤️❤️🌹 PLEASE CHECK THAT YOUR BOOK IS MPG ROMANCE BEFORE YOU READ IT!! That should be the first thing you check, right along with page count!
🌹 Books can NOT be started before the date begins!
🌹 Please remember that all tags must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided. Books can NOT be added to lists or tagged after the date begins! If I find someone using a book that has been tagged by themselves or a teammate after the date begins, the book will be disallowed. If I find someone using books falsely tagged by themselves or a teammate, the books will disallowed. For example, if someone (or their teammate) falsely tagged an MPG Christian Romance as 'erotica’ and the erotica tag is used to qualify the book, that book will be disallowed. Along the same lines, if a book is tagged with something more subjective (like humorous) by any member of the team, if it doesn’t appear to fit the book AND the person who tagged it hasn’t read the book, it may be disallowed. Repeated problems may result in removal from the challenge.

🌹 Please check your qualification! I will spell out what will and what will not qualify for each task and do so prior to each date. Remember, I need to know how you know the book qualifies.
🌹 If you are claiming a Scavenger Hunt book, please make your claims identical in both the Scavenger Hunt and team threads! That way it is much easier for me to know I am checking the same book, otherwise, I am confirming the books twice, once in each thread.
🌹 Please make sure you have notifications turned on for key threads in this challenge! You need to be following your team thread, the Q&A thread and the Scavenger Hunt Rose thread if necessary.
🌹 I strongly suggest that you create a BLANK template for your completion posts. DO NOT copy a prior post. DO NOT copy a teammate's completion. Start EVERY completion post from the blank template! This will help eliminate copy/paste errors along with missing components in a completion post.
🌹 Please remember that I am human and will likely make some mistakes! PLEASE don't hesitate to point out if something seems wrong or unclear!
❤️❤️ NO DATES WILL BEGIN EARLY!! ❤️❤️If there was an extreme situation where I would not be available to announce the date task at the regular time, I would make it clear in advance that there would be an early announcement. I do not foresee this happening. With the Speed Dating Rose, it would not be fair to have the times vary week to week and I will make every attempt to have the announcement made within minutes of the date beginning.
(I seriously have an alarm on my phone and have posted away from home multiple times. I am sincere in trying to keep this as fair as possible!)

Once teams are allocated, you will need to check in and introduce yourself to your team. Please allow your captain to reserve some spots before commenting. Your first task will be to come up with a team name that fits with the theme of Nothing Good Happens After Midnight.
If you so desire, you can familiarize yourself with the date tasks and add books to shelves or lists that they fit. This can be done anytime before the date begins.

The responsibilities are simple - basically helping to keep track of completions: who has read a book for each date and how many they read. Anything extra is nice, but not required.

Thank you Amanda! I'm doing well, still have one procedure to go, but it isn't scheduled at this time. And while it is necessary, it isn't urgent so I'm not in a hurry.

I'm in again! My reading is similar to Wende though, my reading will be sometimes low and sometimes high depending on the task. And when the task is called I'm just waking up, eating and getting ready for my job because I work overnights so I'm never going to be able to participate in the Speed Rose. I hope my team is just for funsies. No to captain.

🌹Theme - Nothing Good Happens After Midnight 🌹
Challenge Dates:
Signups open until Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 3 PM EDT.
Teams Allocated June 29th after signups close, please allow several hours.
First Date begins Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Last Date ends on Friday, August 30, 2024.

This round of The Bachelor Team Challenge will be an 8 week challenge, the first date will begin on July 6, 2024 and the last date ends August 30, 2024. This challenge is all about finding love - books must be romance to count!
Each week you will go on a themed 'date' with your books. You and your teammates can earn roses in several ways, explained below, and at the end of the challenge the team with the most roses wins!
The teams will consist of roughly 6 members. Participants need to be 18 years of age or older. You will be reading a minimum of one book per week to complete the task for your date, there is no passing or alternate tasks. Dates will last one week, beginning on Saturday evenings and ending at Midnight on Friday night. Team members may read multiple books for each date and potentially earn bonus roses. Roses will be awarded at the end of the date and the team with the most roses at the end of the challenge will be our winner!
The dates will begin on Saturdays at 6 PM EDT, at that time the task for each date will be announced. Books must be completed and posted by the following Friday night at Midnight EDT. Roses will be awarded before the next date begins. Each date we will be working towards spelling out B-A-C-H-E-L-O-R. The tasks for each letter will be posted in advance, but you will not know which task will be used until the date begins.
Roses are earned by:
🌹 The First Rose 🌹 Teams earn this rose by reading 4 books fitting the task during the date. (One rose possible per team per date.)
Bonus roses may be earned by:
🌹 Speed Dating Rose 🌹 The team that has 4 members finishing 4 books (1 each) and posts in the Q&A/Announcement thread first wins this bonus rose. Note, posting is required to earn this rose. (One rose possible per date.)
🌹 Team Dating Roses 🌹 Teams with each member completing the task (with a minimum of 6 books read) earn 3 additional roses. (Three roses possible per team per date.)
🌹 Serial Dating Rose 🌹 For every multiple of 8 books read, teams will earn a rose. So 8 books is one rose, 16 books is 2 roses, 24 books is 3 roses and so on. (Number of roses will vary each date, maximum of 7 per team per date.)
🌹 Multiple Date Rose 🌹 The player who reads the most books for the date earns this bonus rose for their team. (One rose possible per date unless there is a tie.)
🌹 Longest Date Rose 🌹 The player that reads the longest book for the date earns this bonus rose for their team. Please note that boxed sets and anthologies will NOT be counted towards this rose! (One rose possible per date unless there is a tie.)
🌹 Page Turner Rose 🌹 The team that reads the most combined pages for the date, first edition Kindle only for page count, earns this bonus rose. (One rose possible per date unless there is a tie.)
🌹 Scavenger Hunt Rose 🌹This special rose is earned by finding a book that fits each rule for the letter the date represents, for example B is for Best (award winner), Bonjour (set in mainland Europe), ??? (hidden task) and Bronco (tagged 'cowboy'). After posting your completion, post in the Scavenger Hunt thread to claim the book. Both posts, in your team thread and the Scavenger Hunt thread, should list the qualifications for each task, i.e. be identical. This rose may be earned multiple times per date but only once per book. The first person to post each book claims the rose for that book. (Number of roses available per date will vary, maximum of 7 per person per date.)
Teams will not be eliminated even if they earn no roses, they will have a chance to catch up by earning additional roses on other dates. Players will be eliminated if they do not complete the task for two cumulative dates. Eliminated players will not be replaced. Remember, players are allowed to read multiple books for a given date in order to earn bonuses and/or to make up for teammates who do not read their book or who have been eliminated.
Books must be 100 pages AND MPG Romance. Contemporary Romance, Historical Romance, Paranormal Romance or similar is acceptable, but it must be romance. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS on the MPG Romance rule. We will be using the first edition Kindle page count ONLY for this challenge. Audiobooks and rereads are ok. Abridged audiobooks are NOT ALLOWED for this challenge. Books can only be read once per person during the challenge even if it fits multiple categories. Once the task for the date is announced, you may not tag a book so that it fits or edit any lists - this must be done before the date begins.
