Emoji Challenge


July 17th recognizes World Emoji Day and many of the world's symbolic icons for digital calendars. The day encourages us to use emojis to send unique messages.

Sign-ups are open till 31 July.
The challenge is open-ended.

The Challenge

1. Please copy the list of emojis in the below message and post it in this thread. No new thread will be created.

2. This challenge is for 20 books. Each option has 2 emojis and you need to read a book that you can connect to any of the emoji in any manner. You can read in any order. For each completed task, you will receive one point. Additionally, you will receive 5 points for completing 10 books and 10 points for all 20 books.

3. You have 1 skip available throughout the entire challenge - just let me know in the help thread which invention you are using it for and you can read a book that fits the general guideline. For additional skips, you need to use your points,
2 points: If you complete any other task in the set of 20 emojis
5 points: For any book that fits general guidelines

4. Just post the name of the book and how it relates to the emoji you chose.
Don't overthink the connection, it could be literally anything. Below few examples but could be so much more (be creative!):
eg: Women in steamy room : Steamy romance or a book that made you sweat in anticipation or book where someone goes to spa
eg: Fox : Fox on cover or character with fox like traits or title of book has all letters of fox
eg: Poo : Book you rated low or brown cover

Some random facts:
✨ Emoji, a Japanese expression, roughly means "picture word" and was created by Shigetaka Kurita in 1990. While working for the Japanese telecom company NTT Docomo, Kurita would design these picture words as a feature on their pagers to make them more appealing to teens
✨The release of the first iPhone by Apple in 2007 had an emoji keyboard embedded into the phone to nab the Japanese market. While not intended for U.S. users to find, they did and quickly figured out how to use it.
✨In 2014, Emojipedia founder Jeremy Burge created World Emoji Day. The date of July 17th has been intrinsic to the iconic red and black Apple calendar emoji since its launch in 2002
