Sorry for the delay everyone. It's my fault, Jazzy has sorted out a problem for me & it's all ready for you to post when you want.

Well, then there's good hope that I will like it since I do like strange ◉‿◉.
I've read all the ones you mentioned above. Fahrenheit 451 is really good.

It’s so very lonely, you’re two thousand light years from home…
Panteleimon Romanov - Three Pairs of Silk Stockings 1930
Isak Dinesen - Seven Gothic Tales 1934

Nike, we like similar books. I thought Fahrenheit 451 was wonderful! But it was the first book by Ray Bradbury that I read, so his other books have disappointed me by comparison.

Have you read Something Wicked This Way Comes? I loved that one.

Yes Nike, I read that but wasn’t very interested in it. If I had read it first I probably wouldn’t have tried any more of his books.
Nidhi, that’s a clever choice - two numbers in just one title!

01/7/24 - 31/7/24
3/3
1. The Four Fists by F. Scott Fitzgerald (1920) July 16, 2024 4*
2. "The Three Versions of Judas" from Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges (1941-1956)
3. Two Gallants from Dubliners by James Joyce (1914) July 30, 2024 4*

Possible things to read - Since I just started reading Les Miserables I do not want to commit to any other big works. I went through the 6 short story anthologies I have at home and found at least 8 short stories, of various genres, that have a numeral in the title.

Vicky, I may try your play. I didn’t realise Conrad had written any plays. My first experience of his books was (a long time ago!) at school when forced to read The Rover & study it in very boring detail. But I’ve read some of his other books since joining Goodreads & like them so perhaps it’s time to try this one too.

Hope you enjoy it,Tr1sha!I'm new to One Act plays, intrigued as to how they were staged-were they the equivalent of a "B" film,I wonder,to whet the appetite for a main performance?

I love short stories so will be reading those. The authors on the list that grabbed my interest include James Joyce Katherine Mansfield , F. Scott Fitzgerald , Jorge Luis Borges , William Faulkner , and D.H. Lawrence. Also Virginia Woolf wrote essays that could fit this idea.
I bet I can find some stories that have a number in the title.

Love that you shared this list!

Well done, Nidhi.

The Beatles - All Together Now:
“One, two, three, four
Can I have a little more?
Five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, I love you.”
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Panteleimon Romanov - Three Pairs of Silk Stockings 1930
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Isak Dinesen - Seven Gothic Tales 1934
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Maurice Blanchot - The One Who Was Standing Apart from Me 1953
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn - In the First Circle 1968

I read that a year or two ago and really liked it too!! Glad you enjoyed it.

I read my 3 books (message #12) but still want to finish reading The Two Destinies. I like it but tried to complete too many challenges in July!
