Yes, that Tom Hanks! As with any collection, some stories are better than others, but Hanks doing his own narration is always wonderful. The stories reflect many of his personal interests - the space program, WWII, nostalgia for mid-20th century America, and of course, typewriters. He has a collection of them and one is found in every story. In the print book, there is a picture of the relevant machine before each story, from a Victorian era model to an IBM Selectric (with the changeable ball - I remember those). Some stories are humorous, some poignant, some a bit weird. A few of them have recurring characters. Overall, quite entertaining.

I liked this, too. It was fun to listen to him, but I missed out on those illustrations.

I listened to him but I also got the book from the library.

I enjoyed this book. Hanks is an interesting story teller and I enjoy a typewriter making an appearance in each story.
