Hey Lily! I just wanted to let you know that we have the Moderator chat ready to go so if we need to chat about ideas or anything... Are we wanting to wait on a reading challenge for a little bit or are we wanting to brainstorm more ideas first?

i think we should brainstorm more ideas, what about you?

i was thinking we could make it summer themed with summer prompts? what do you think.

hey V! someone PM'd me asking if they could be a moderator, and wanted to help with the group ! they want to know what to do to be a moderator and i wanted to check in with you

I mean your the head Mod but I am fine with it but we all need to communicate and be on the same page with rules and stuff. I will brainstorm some ideas for a challenge and prompts and will post them in here as I go. What things do you specifically want me to be in charge of?

Here are some rules I came up with:

(Check them out and see if you like them and then I will post them in the announcement thread.

1. Treat others the way you want to be treated. (That’s fellow members and to the Moderators)

2. NO DRAMA! (If you start drama you will be removed from the group period.)

3. Be respectful to other people!

4. If you have any issues with another member of the group, bring it up to a Moderator and we will take care of it.

5. Unless you are a Moderator, please DON’T create threads unless you have permission from us. (We are trying our best to keep track of threads.)

6. No giving out personal information. (Cell phone number, address, passwords to social media, etc.)

7. Please DO NOT use this group to find a boyfriend or girlfriend. This is a reading app not a dating app.

i agree with all of the rules but i do allow members to create threads in the book recs folder if they want recs for a specific type of book.

i think you could be in charge of making polls for BOTM and SOTM and overall just doing what is needed in the group? if that makes sense.

i will make them a mod and i agree with you.

What are we thinking for a reading challenge? i was thinking similar to the ones in your other groups V

Yes we can do something like that. You said you want it summer themed? Are you also wanting just Mods to be team members so we can make this easy for everyone?

Yes. it doesnt have to be super summer since the challenge will probably go into august too. there can be 2 teams

For the challenge name do you guys like any of these? Here Comes The Sun, Sun’s Out Books Out, Summer Blissin’ Sun’s Kissin.

We can do that for the team Name!! What do you guys think of team names? And I will think of some prompts today!

True. We just need to decide which one of us want to be a team captain for those teams.

Okay. Lily you can be captain of one team and it’s up to the other Mod if she wants to be one. If not I will.

Once we finalize everything, I will make a word document and I’ll post it in the chat. That way you guys can click on the link. Take a look at the document and if everything‘s good then I’ll make the final post in the group and then get the Reading challenge how does that sound?

What do you ladies think of Moderator reads?

Pretty much what this is, is each one of us will host a different book and people of the group can choose which one they want to join. It’s just a fun read and just another way to get books off your list.

for some reason this thread doesn't pop up in my notifs so i always have to manually check. are you ok with being a team captain?

Yes. I can tell you how to turn on notifications.

i have notifications on for the group, but for this specific thread it doesn't give me any

You have to click on the moderator chat and then under the big comment box it says edit and it says do notifications only in the drop-down menu

do i create a new thread for my mod read?

Yes. Just post the title and who the author is in the thread that’s created! And then create a separate thread explaining when you plan on starting what you think will happen the back of the book blurb so people can read it and then they can let you know that’s what I’m gonna do. I’m about to create that I’m doing right now.

Hey Lily! I’m sorry I haven’t been active. My whole family is currently sick at the moment and I am trying to recover but I’m fine with whenever on the reading challenge!
