Melanie | 1911 comments Another year of books added to the YA-MA book shelf. This August all the books that almost won a poll get a second chance to become a coveted YA-MA Book of the Month. Voting will have two rounds. Each round will have a 1 week voting period. PS: A lot of the second place 'wins' were ties. I chose randomly in these cases which book would make it to the poll.

*Round One: Every runner-up book will be in the poll. The top 3 books will move on to round two.

*Round Two: The top 3 book from round on will compete against each other. The winner will be our August Book of the Month.

Happy voting!

Melanie | 1911 comments It is quite a split vote so far. 7 books each with one vote. This may take some creative resolution. On the plus side, it's because they are all good choices!

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments You could create a couple more polls wherein we could vote for 2 more choices (NOT the same one 3 times!). That’s how we do it in another group I’m in. I could’ve easily voted for at least 2 more.

message 5: by Melanie, looking for a partner in crime (new) - rated it 3 stars

Melanie | 1911 comments I'll explore that if the stalemate holds. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ashley (ashleycw) | 257 comments i changed my vote. I'd already read the book anyway

message 7: by Melanie, looking for a partner in crime (new) - rated it 3 stars

Melanie | 1911 comments Thanks. I was considering that option for myself ... and still can. We'd have to use a non-GR poll source to vote for multiple options.

message 8: by DivaDiane (new) - added it

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments My other group creates multiple (3) sets of identical polls (on GR), but they go up at the same time. And you aren’t allowed to vote for the same book across the polls.

message 9: by DivaDiane (new) - added it

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments Then whoever is moderating the polls adds the votes from the 3 polls together. It’s cumbersome but it works. You could add 2 more polls and ask members to select 2 more books they would like to read.

Melanie | 1911 comments If no one breaks the tie before the poll closes, I will choose a winner @ random.

Melanie | 1911 comments The winner of the coin toss is Three Mages and a Margarita by Annette Marie. This book was the second place winner as an NA book. It is now our August BOTM!

Happy Reading!!
