Every time I read a Morgan Matson book, I always feel like I need to listen to more music because while I recognize a good chunk of the artists in the playlists, and maybe even a few songs, the majority are a mystery to me.

Can I just say that I still think Gideon is super adorable, and while I know they weren't technically a good match, I still was pulling for it a little bit? He kept her surfing bear tattoo! Even though there were very few interactions with him, I could really clearly picture him and I just find his personality adorable. Plus, the whole situation of them getting together is so realistic. Everyone has had a situation similar, whether it's a friend setting you up with someone or just having someone suggest that a person is cute and suddenly you develop a full blown crush for no reason. Those things happen a lot in high school and it felt so real.

Glad we finally got the confirmation that Sam was a douche and what exactly happened there.

I'm a little confused on the timeline though? I didn't get the impression that Sam and Sloane had just broken up before she left at the beginning of the book but during that flashback, it said Two Months Ago??

I'm wondering what is going on with Lissa. Are they just growing apart from her being gone this whole summer? Is she seeing someone else? She called Emily and was crying/upset so I'm wondering when that big reveal will happen. I need it to soon because I don't like this weird limbo where he is with her but kinda not? Even though Frank and Emily are such cute friends and I'd love it if they stayed that way, they have to get together :)

Nicky Goldsmith | 10 comments Just read chapter 7. I'm loving how Emily is spending more time with her new friends and brother Beckett.

It seems to me that when Sloane was around she didn't have time for others and lacked confidence because she depended so much on Sloane

In my opinion, her leaving has done Emily the world of good.

Barbs (barbs89) Really interesting chapters!
I'm so glad we found out what happened with Sam...he really is a douchebag...and I'm so glad that Sloane actually believed that he would do something like that.

I really think Lissa met someone at Princeton and just can't speak up about it. Maybe she feels bad because her and Frank have been together forever...

Can't wait to finish the book today...also I already know it won't be a 5 star book for me...except something really "wow" happens in the last chapters.

Totally agree with you about Sloane...she seems like a person who feeds of other people to feel better about herself...maybe that's a bit harsh...but I can't find a better way to describe it :D

Adriana (adriana_) "Then I reached for a Sloane-chosen outfit—a vintage dress from Twice that I’d worn a lot last summer. But after I put it on, I found myself pulling at the straps, tugging at the hem, not liking what I saw in the mirror. For some reason, it didn’t feel like me any longer"

When I read this part of the book, in my mind I was clapping and saying Mission Accomplished. I feel like this is the moment when you finally know she's already a different person. It made me so happy!

And this part,
“Hi,” I said, smiling at him, happy to see him even though I’d just seen him that morning. Now that he was in front of me, I couldn’t believe I’d ever thought about not coming here.

It was so cute :3
