Creating this thread for our fifth of seven Harry Potter books!

Please share your final ranking and thoughts below:

Fav character: Our clever girl Hermione. I love that she’s finally helping Harry take some of Voldamort’s fearmongering power away by using his name and telling everyone to stop when they flinch at it. She shows her true ride or die side again by helping Harry tell his truth and getting more people to believe him and stop ostracizing him. Another brilliant story centered idea brought to us as well in starting the DA. One negative I can’t stand by is her hiding the handmade scarves and hats and trying to set the elves free without their knowledge and consent tho, SO Dobby for taking them all and growing his wardrobe.

Fav side character: McG

Least fav character: Obviously Umbridge. At least other people like Lucious are outright with their evil, but Umbridge hides it behind fake duty with hidden intent. Physically abusing students should never be allowed, nor giving them detention for talking to a reporter just because you don’t like their truth. She’s a bully on a power trip.

Favorite: Ron! Kind of his stand out book. He wasn't obnoxious and nasty towards his friends this time around. You really feel like he has matured a bit and taken his role as prefect on with stride. He also tries out for quidditch and even though he sucks the entire time, he pulls through when it really counts and shows the school that Weasley Is Our King!

Least Favorite: Filch - Having song a long tenure at the school, denying the truth that Voldemort is rising back to power and helping an awful regime take control of Hogwarts. Wants to whip and chain students. Takes joy in fellow co-workers being sacked from their job.

Favorite Chapter Image - 25: The Beetle At Bay

Favorite Side Character: McGonagall - She really bossed it up and told Umbridge exactly what everyone wanted to say. She is fiercely loyal to Harry and the cause for the Order. Was extremely a victim when she got stunned a bunch!

Favorite - Ron, he’s awesome and definitely portrayed differently in the movies

Favorite: Luna Lovegood. I have a soft spot for her, it's possible that some of my feelings stem from movie nostalgia but never the less, she is fun, quirky, and always on Harry's side. She also adds some charm to an otherwise bleak entry.

Favorite Side Character: Professor McGonagall. She was bad ass in this book. Always being sassy to Umbridge and loyal to Dumbleydoor. The scene where she gets stunned had me SHOOK.

Least Favorite Character: Filch. Josh made some good points. He's also kind of an icky character.
