I thought this book would be good but was quite disappointed. The author seems to skim over the story instead of immersing the reader into Asenath's life. I thought the language was more like that of modern day America instead of ancient Egypt. Overall it was just painful to read... :(

I know and I feel bad for saying it, this being her first book and all...
