Sam walks into the trap set by Marissa and Stahl with no one knowing she was even there. Gonzo’s instincts had him come into work without clearance because he sensed something was seriously off. He was the only one to sound the alarm that Sam was missing and rightly figured out where to begin looking. What do you think might have happened without Gonzo? Was this a train wreck destined to happen because of Sam’s personal decisions, including not having a phone with location ability?

Judy (bigfootgal) | 29 comments I have long thought that Sam was foolish to hold on to an outdated phone just for the pleasure of snapping it shut. She's too intelligent to ignore the convenience and safety factors of having a smart phone. Without Gonzo's alarm I would say she would probably have been killed before anyone in her office started looking for her. Nick would have become alarmed when she was late and he couldn't reach her but that might well have been too late.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with Judy. I hate that Sam doesn't think like the good cop she is supposed to be. Without Gonzo, Sam would be dead. This is another example of her being selfish which drives me up the wall. She has a husband and child that she needs to put first.

She can keep her stupid flip phone for those moments she needs to snap the phone shut, but have a phone they can trak in the car. I'm surprised that the PD doesn't require it.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Sam would be dead by now if Gonzo hadn't sounded the alarm.

I agree with Judy & Sharon about the phone. I can't believe anyone would keep a flip phone over a smart phone. She could save time and look stuff up herself instead of calling the office to get information (addresses). Sharon made a good point. The PD would probably require some kind of tracking of all of their detectives.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments The flip phone idiocy; the refusal to accept Secret Service protection even though she is a target, and her failure to call for back up are all ridiculous.

I've read enough police procedurals to realize that Sam is not a good cop. She thinks that she is invincible and that the rules are for everyone else but her.

Sam is lucky that Gonzo is more perceptive and intelligent than she is.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Her arrogance almost got her killed this time. Is she going to learn her lesson? I doubt it.
