Shelby was deeply hurt to learn that Sam and Nick failed to tell her about Avery’s feelings for Sam. Was she justified? How could they have handled this differently?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Yes she was justified. She is a friend as well as an employee. Shelby asked about Nick's dislike of Avery, but never received a response. Sam, at a minimum, should have talked to her.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I think Sam and Nick should have told Shelby about Avery's interest in Sam when he started dating Shelby. That way Shelby could have made an informed decision about him.

Judy (bigfootgal) | 29 comments It would be a hard choice for me, between being honest with a friend and not wanting to chance putting an end to what looked like a possibly real connection between Shelby and Avery.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Yes, her hurt and anger were justified. They did use her even though they don't see it that way.
This is one area in which Force was correct in her characterization and portrayal. I'm glad that Shelby confronted Sam and Nick over lying to her.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Shelby is absolutely justified and entitled to her anger over the situation. She knew there was a problem between Nick and Avery and even asked about the situation. They lied to her. I would have been mad too and I'm not sure I would trust any of them again.

I agree with Robin, she should have been told when she started dating him.
