Throughout her ordeal with Stahl, Sam never said a word and went inward, thinking only of her family. When her therapist suggested that it was probably what saved her until she could be rescued, it was a turning point for Sam. Was that your thinking or would Stahl have continued his torture? Of all that was done to Sam, the only thing she really feared was that he’d rape her. Your thoughts about that?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Stahl is driven by anger and hatred. He would have continued his torture. It is the only way he knows to get the upper hand.

Rape is a scary prospect for any women, but torture is scary too. I'm not sure why she feared one more than the other.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Rape is a woman's worst fear - it is the worst type of assault a woman can experience and is worse than torture. It makes sense that this concerned her more than anything, especially after the attack on Jeannie.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Stahl was going to kill her. But he wanted her to acknowledge his superiority first. When she refused to say anything, he was enraged that he couldn't make her do that.
