Mitch Sanborn, the former head of the Democratic National Committee and who abducted and raped Jeannie McBride, committed suicide in his cell. On one hand, Jeannie won’t have to relive all of this in court. On the other, she won’t get the chance to face her rapist and get justice. Your thoughts?

Judy (bigfootgal) | 29 comments Since, fortunately for me, I have never been in Jeannie's situation, it is difficult to say. From where I stand now, I think I might be grateful to have it over and done,

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Since most defense attorney's like to place the blame on the victim, I believe Jeannie is better off. She doesn't have to worry about running into Sanborn ever again. It is cathartic for some to face their rapist though.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments What a coward!
I also think Jeannie is better off. She gets the closure knowing the man who attacked her is dead and will not need to relive the trauma by testifying and being cross-examined.

She can tell her story and get the truth out there without the psychological backlash.

Judy (bigfootgal) | 29 comments I believe the suggestion that she give an interview is a great way to deal with getting her story out. That way she can tell her story without being harassed by the defense attorney in cross examination.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Agree with everyone. I think Jeannie is better off in the long run not having to testify or face cross examination from the defense attorney.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Did he really commit suicide or was he "Epsteined"? He knew an awful lot about some powerful people. I, personally, would prefer him dead and rotting in hell.
