50 books to read before you die discussion

My list is highlighted of the books I know I have read over the years and not forgotten. I know I have read more than I note, but cannot remember if I had read excerpts or the whole thing.

How good is hamlet, I going to read it in Ap lit. Also is there any books you think from this list you think would be a good book for independent reading.

Hamlet is very good. Personally when it comes to reading plays I like to see it, or listen to an audio recording of it first (after all it's meant to be performed) and then read it. I find it makes for a much more enjoyable reading experience.

After Hamlet I highly recommend reading Enter Ghost by Isabella Hammad which is centred around putting on a performance of Hamlet.

I think the better question is what on the list should I avoid. Nothing. Maybe you should start with a modern book. I suggest One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. it is excellent. Since you like Horror, you have to read both The Picture of Dorian Gray and Frankenstein: The 1818 Text.
