So, Shannon, do you think we should read 2 or 3 chapters a day?

Okay! There's 30 chapters, so to get it done in two weeks, we could read 2 chapters a day until the last two days where we'd read 3. Unless you want to do it the opposite way, where we start off with 3, but after a couple of days, we switch to 2 chapters a day?

Let’s do 2 chapters a day at first. That way we can get into the book more. Then 3 chapters towards the end!

I read to four because I actually checked out the book yesterday, so I only have 13 days left to borrow it, but I'll switch to the 2 chapters a day tomorrow. Where did you read to?

Do you cast the characters in your head when you’re reading? This is one of my favorite things to do when reading. I think I have a person that resembles the description for Lady Cecily.

I do sometimes, but it really depends on the character. Who do you think looks like Lady Cecily?

Ali J Newton. She plays in Heartland. I think she fits well when she looks natural without makeup. If you have instagram she has a lot of pictures of her in dresses. It gives a flirty/romantic vibe that I think reflects the character


Some things I’ve noticed: I’m reading page 55 right now and I see the phrase “…it was not until May of 1611 that we acquired a permanent place of worship…“ this is the year the King James Bible was first available to the people. The fact that the people had the word of God in their hands allowed them to form places of worship. It probably brought a difference in interpretation with scripture, which is where this whole “separatist” movement came from. I love the history in period pieces!

I just looked her up, and yeah, I agree.

I actually didn't pay that much attention to that sentence, but that's neat. I could see that being the case. I love it, too!

Hey! How are you liking the book so far? I’m loving it the more and more I read. There were two days over the weekend that I wasn’t able to get much reading in, but I think I caught up between today and yesterday. Do you have any guesses on what’s going to happen in the future?

Hey! I really like it so far! Yeah, I'm a couple of chapters behind, too, but I'm going to catch up today. I really don't have any guesses rn, but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes soon. Do you have any guesses?

I think Captain Jones will eventually be converted. He was based on the actual captain of the Mayflower. I think Gilbert will wind up with Humility in the end, but I’m not sure how that’s going to play out with Cecily. And my final guess is, I think Brewster is going to die before the book ends. I don’t know why I think that. It’s just a hunch. lol.

Yeah, I can see that happening. I don't remember if the real captain ever converted irl or not though.
I think he probably will end up with her, too.
