24th book in the series and I wait with anticipation each summer for the newest tale of Gabriel. There is formula to these books, usually a bad sign-but the characters are so well built so it matters not to me.

As always we are in the world of Art-Gabriel is on the hunt for a Picasso lost stolen during WWII. A character introduced in the very beginning of the series pops up, grown into a man who was slightly molded by Gabriel. This proved very interesting to me, and I am hoping Silva builds on this character in future books. Characters who have been around for a while return and (rarely use spoiler in a review but I must mention this slight spoiler) (view spoiler).

Again, Silva does not disappoint- yet another year to wait *sigh*

KateNZ | 4100 comments I still haven’t read any of these. The library doesn’t have e-copies of books 1-9 (and I presume it’s best to start at the beginning?) so I’ll have to go hunting

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12582 comments Oh yes Kate-you must start at the beginning..happy hunting

Olivermagnus (lynda11282) | 4788 comments I think you have to read the first book, at least. It explains Gabriel's history and how that motivates him throughout the series.
