We invite YOU to nominate a theme for next month.

Perhaps there's a holiday (major or obscure) you want to celebrate? Maybe you want to focus on a specific genre or tag? Want to look for cover image or color? Focus on the author's initials?

There is NO requirement that the theme match the month or season. Whatever "theme" you can come up with is fair game.

BE SURE to include the task requirement for your theme:
Examples:
Author, Author!: Read a book whose author's first and last initials are in "Author, Author"
Summer Vacay!: Read a book you consider a "vacation read"
Read a book with BLUE cover.

ONE nomination per member

To encourage participation from more members, the person who nominated LAST month's winning theme cannot nominate this month. So, Book Concierge, you will *not* be able to submit a nomination (though you WILL be able to vote).

DEADLINE - 25 August 2024 5p CDT, or 5 nominations (whichever comes first)

Once the nominations are closed, we'll set up a poll for membership to vote on the theme for next month.

Nominated themes:
* Birthday of the U.S. Air Force - Read a book that features a character in one of the branches of U.S. military service. (Carol)
* Mexican Independence Day - Read a book set in Mexico (Patty)

* Time to Fly South for the Winter - Read a book with a bird shown on the COVER /or/ with a bird's name in the title. (Diana S)
*
*

Have fun!

Birds!
It's that time of the year where some birds start preparing to fly south for the winter months.
Read a book displaying a bird(s) on the cover -or- a bird's name in the title.
e.g. Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen , The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan -OR- To Kill a Mockingbird , The Goldfinch

Beverly ...
Sorry, I didn't announce that the nominations were closed. But the poll has been up since Aug 26 and results will be revealed soon.

WE HAVE A WINNER ...

Diana S's suggestion was the top vote getter:

* Time to Fly South for the Winter - Read a book with a bird shown on the COVER /or/ with a bird's name in the title.
