Hey gang!!!
Super sad to hear that The Acolyte was canceled. I really enjoyed it and felt there was such potential for the show and the characters.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this?

Markus Schmidt | 10 comments Hey,
I was also super bummed to hear about it! Especially the end of season 1 made me really excited for the next season.
I'm just interested in how or if they are ever gonna show more content in this time period.

And it sucks because IP shows like this have no where else to go. It's not like Netflix or Prime could just pick it up.

It's just so disappointing that they couldn't give this show space to grow!!!!

✨Genessa✨ (genessa) | 9 comments I personally haven't watched the Acolyte yet, but I heard there's like two books coming out in that time period. Maybe there will be more books to fill in the holes of whatever was left off for S2 instead?

Leensey | 6 comments disappointed. i was hyped prior to seeing this show because of the THR books, and while it is my own fault because i had really high expectations, i still liked the show overall and was even more intrigued to see how they would've continued the story in a second season.

Caryn (housefrau) | 3 comments Very disappointed. It was intriguing to see Darksiders from their perspective. I don't blame the actors. They were amazing. The screenwriting was very mixed IMHO. And, it could not overcome the fandom negativity who seem to prefer something different

Sean | 1 comments disappointing, but yea not surprising the amount of hate it was getting, not much of it deserved I don't think.

Robert | 27 comments Quite disappointing. The first season had its high points and low but it was by no means terrible. Lots of shows take 2 or 3 seasons to really hit their stride, I wish studios wouldn't be so apt to pay attention to knee-jerk instant reactions online (though since they are beholden to shareholders I grudgingly understand why they are).

Fingon | 2 comments The show was terribly written and mostly badly acted. It had potential, true, but it was wasted.

As for cancelation, if you tell to large portion of your expected fan base that it's not for them and that they should fuck off if they don't like it, you have to find new target audience. Acolyte failed to do so, and there's that.
