I'm glad this one was picked as it's been on my to-read list ever since it came out - I even have a copy on my Kindle already.
Only downside? I have two books to finish, before I can start. Luckily it's still August!

One of the only books I’ve been able to read in a few days.

Although Eleanor displayed symptoms of loneliness she was also very happy to not be part of a society’s ‘in crowd’.
I have recommended the book to others and wish there was a sequel. It left me wondering what if and what next.
Is this a sign of a good story?
Eleanor’s actions and outlook reminded me a little of the main character in The Maid by Nita Prose.

I’m glad others liked it too.
I enjoyed Eleanor Oliphant very much. I thought the author handled the difficult subject matter with skill.
I read a review, elsewhere in goodreads, that suggested that
Eleanor's formal speech and lack of knowledge of the culture was unrealistic, but I think she was spot on. I'm sad to say, I have met someone very like her. Sadly, unlike Eleanor, this woman didn't get the help she needed.
Overall I found the book moving and hopeful. Plus I didn't see that final twist coming! Definitely a good read.
