Shall we start? How do you feel about Lily's character so far? As for me, I'm not a fan, except for her red hair

So this is actually a reread for me, which might influence my opinion. I'm kinda neutral about Lily so far. She doesn't really annoy me or anything but also I'm not obssesed with her. Why are you not a fan?

How far are you and how are you liking it so far?

Now I like her a lot more after she has introduced Atlas and her kindness and empathy toward him initially I find her bit annoying as the eulogy at her fathers funeral was something I consider disrespectful alot.

TBH initially I was subjective as things were moving fast and tension were not there as I expected for some reason but now I think I'm pacing through it. I'm reading more than my targets each day :))

I can see that, but I also don't think her father was really deserving of respect. But the funeral was for the living not the dead so maybe she should've just played along

oh that's good!! Yeah things definitely ramp up the further in the book you go

Did any of the flashbacks to Lily's past surprise you? and Who is your favourite character up to this point? If Any ? What do you like about them?

Since I've read it before (and watched the movie), no the flashbacks didn't surprise me. I'm not sure I have a favourite character to be honest... maybe Alyssa? I just love her energy and how she's so willing to go to bat for Lily. What about you?

You should! I watched the movie too and the book is definitely better (but then when isn't it)

Just finished first part and till now Allysa & Marshall is also my favourite I just loved the part when Marshall said "t. My teeth were in another girl who tasted like Cheetos and...." .

Was there a quote or line in the first part that really stood out to you or made you think? What was it and why did it catch your attention?

Not in the first part I don't think... there is one in the second part but I'll wait until you're there to discuss it. Do you have one?

Yes definitely! I don't remember the exact quote, but one line that has stood by me since I first read it in 2022 was "I hate myself for memorizing it" or something similar where Lily was talking about memorizing Atlas' number and calling it after Ryle tried to (view spoiler)[ rape (hide spoiler)] her

What did you think? Are you interested in reading the sequel?

In crux I like it not my favourite but I like story & writing both was good and I'm definitely up for sequel just need a little time for process this one completely.

what about you ? What's your perspective about it ?

I'm definitely a big fan of this book. Like I mentioned, this was a reread for me so I wasn't sure it'd still hit me as hard. But it definitely did. There's just something about it that hits me right where it hurts, I was crying/sobbing a lot at the end. So yeah you can say I like it haha

Would you be up for buddyreading the sequel? I actually haven't read that one yet. You said you need a little time to process and I totally get that. I own the next one already so if you'd be interested just let me know and we can do it whenever
