k mandra | 3 comments New here. I am an avid reader. I am admin for a book club of nearly 1,000 members. My book club is exclusively for my original Facebook group focused on retired teachers. It is possible that could add an ARC outlet for my book club members. I am invested in being a part of promoting valid and accurate reviews of books. I have lost faith in Ama$on reviews and focus on other outlets. As a recent retiree, I have more time to indulge my passion for reading. I still gravitate toward my key genres but I now have the freedom to widen my horizons by exploring some genres outside my comfort zone.

What do accidental stalking, panic attacks, and landscaping have in common?

Everly’s life is exactly as it should be, until her estranged sister comes back to town the same day Asim Jabbar knocks on her door, nearly knocking Everly off her slipper-clad feet and her anxious heart right out of her chest.

After the flirtiest plant delivery of her life, Everly tries to find her Hot Delivery Guy without becoming a stalker, then digs herself into a hole when she enlists his help re-landscaping her yard. An already immaculate yard that does not need any new plants.

Asim agrees, on one condition: that Everly get her perfectly manicured hands dirty and join him. Despite Asim turning her life upside down, Everly can't stop thinking about the muscular, tattooed plant dad.

But when Asim’s world collapses and past scars threaten their future, Everly doesn’t realize all that Asim has sacrificed for her until it’s too late.

My book, Fire and Tears, is free on Kindle until OCT 18th and I’m thankful for any reviews I can get! So thank you in advance!

Link: https://a.co/d/39Zbp2f

Genre: Suspense/Mystery/ Thriller

Summary: Jade is a stubborn, persistent, and compassionate seventeen-year-old girl with some grit and some wit. She is sold to the highest bidder by her stepfather, a man once a hero to her, but now a monster. And he wouldn’t be the only monster she would have to face. Nor the only monster she would fight. Because she would fight. She can’t help but fight, even when she knows the odds are against her.

When Jade is sold to a wealthy businessman, Ivan, she expects to become his sex slave, but things take an unexpected turn when she is gifted to Ivan’s brother. Seemingly now in the clear, Jade quickly realizes that Ivan remains a constant threat, and he shows no intention of ceasing his pursuit, despite his brother’s demands not to touch her.

Meanwhile, there is a mysterious man who has been looking for Jade when he realizes she may be in danger, but every time he gains an inch, he loses a mile. When he finally manages to get her to safety, Jade has a hard time truly escaping her monsters when her mind won’t let her forget what Ivan did to her. But perhaps forgetting her monsters isn’t how she’s meant to overcome her battles. No. Perhaps facing them is the only way for her to have her victory. So this time, if he comes for her, she’ll be ready. And she’ll fight.

Carlyn Cane | 7 comments Hi, "Newbie!"

Don't know if steamy contemporary romance is your cup of tea or not, but if it's a possibility, I'd be grateful for an voluntary, honest review of my pre-release, "Forbidden Entanglement," due to release on Nov 15th. It's a longer novella, really. If you and/or your club could read it and give it your thoughts on the 15th, I'd be very appreciative!

Kanara never meant to kill her mother. A lifetime in prison awaits her. But the judge gives her a break and sentences her to ten years at Zylen Mental Hospital.

At first glance, the hospital isn’t bad. The food is edible, the other patients don’t know about her crime, and Eliot, the intern assigned to her case, is gentle and kind, not to mention gorgeous.

But the hospital has a few secrets of its own.

Like the cryptic message on the wall in Kanara’s room, written in a cipher only she and her sister know.

And the new voice in her head that seems to be able to predict the future.

And the doctors whispering in secret that their experiment is failing, the patients are dying, and they’re all running out of time.

C.J. Penn | 3 comments Hi,
Can I interest you in a new/old perspective on Christianity?
Where modern Christianity reflects 2000 years of human influence and contamination, “Beneath the Graffiti: A De-churched Christian’s Search for Christianity” reveals the untainted Christianity that Jesus lived and taught.
On Amazon, the “Read sample” selection for the Kindle version will give you more than enough to decide if you want to read more, though the first page will hopefully do that. The paperback “Read sample” selection is small—go figure.
If you’re interested in reading and possibly reviewing my book, it’s currently available via Kindle Unlimited, or I could send you a pdf or epub file.
What do you think? And thanks for considering this.

C.I. DeMann | 22 comments Hi Newbie. Are you still doing reviews? If so, you're awesome. Text Chain's my third novel, it's a romantic comedy set in college, and I hope you'd like to review it. It came out just a few days ago, so it's only got a few reviews so far, but they're all good. Text Chain Here's what one person had to say on Amazon.
"C.I. Demann's characters leap off the page. They are so real that, like Sarah, I want to reach through the screen and give them all a big hug. They are my new best friends. Friends who are 1,000 times wittier than I am, sure. But that's what you get from an author as funny as this one. Demann reminds me of Nick Hornby in all the best ways. His characters are so realistic it's frankly unbelievable, and I am outraged that he is so much better at writing characters than I am. If you want to feel all the feels and laugh yourself silly, read this book now."
If you're interested, let me know.

Hi, Mandra. Thank you for your kind offer. I write reviews myself, so I appreciate the effort and time that goes into creating them.

I'd love a review of the second Kincaid Saga book and follow-up to GOLD! Feargus is a prequel, so you can still enjoy this tale even if you haven't read the first in the series.

Here’s a brief blurb:
Feargus Kincaid is a down-to-earth working-class Aussie bloke. He wouldn’t hurt a fly—or would he?
When his girlfriend is attacked by three thugs, he and his best mate mete out their own form of rough justice, setting in train a series of events that will propel them into the shady world of gangsters, protection racketeers, and The Mafia. In the 1940s and 50s, life in Australia was simple. Feargus is about to see how complicated it can get.

A violent confrontation resulting in severe injuries leaves him reliant on painkillers. Despite his best intentions, Feargus finds himself drawn into a life of crime and drug addiction from which escape seems impossible. With the help of his friend and partner in crime, Paddy, he struggles to attain redemption for himself and a secure future for his sons, Malcolm and Jamie.

Sometimes, however, Fate has other ideas.

Feargus is written for lovers of gritty fiction and 20th-century drama. Any and all reviews, long or short, will be most welcome. Even a simple star rating if you prefer.

And yes, it is available on KU if you happen to subscribe. Here's a link:

If you'd prefer me to send an ARC, message me here or email me at thomasgreenbank888@gmail.com and I'll reply with an EPUB or PDF.

Thanks again. Thomas.

Hi Mandra

My speculative fiction novel Vividwater might be one for you:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

It's a dystopian office thriller set in a future world that is running out of clean water, and where water is the new status and wealth.

Happy to send epubs, or paper copy.

Thanks Jacqueline

Jasna Kaluđerović | 16 comments Hi Mandra,

I'd be happy to send you a physical copy of my book, Letters to an Embryo, if you prefer it that way. Please feel free to send me your address via DM if you're interested. Here's the link so you can check whether it might be your kind of read:

I’m still trying to reach as many readers as possible. The book is already published—unfortunately, since this is my first one, I didn’t even know books could be reviewed before publication, so I missed that chance. I hope you don’t mind. :)

Best regards,
Jasna Kaludjerovic

Andrew Tweeddale | 11 comments Hi,
I don’t know whether you like Historical Fiction? My new book, A Remembrance of Death has recently been released and I’m looking to get more exposure for it.

The following is a review I received from a reader in Australia.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brillant
Reviewed in Australia on 28 January 2025
Verified Purchase
I am so glad I stumbled across this. It is an absolute masterpiece. An epic, it follows three generations across five continents. The author has crafted some brilliant characters, from the long-suffering Basil to the shallow Celia.
However, the clever plot, prose, or character development does not differentiate this novel. It is the author's style. His dry writing style is tongue-in-cheek and explores the ongoing effects of death and injury suffered in war. He invites the reader to consider issues such as colonialism and homosexuality.
If I could give this work six stars, I would.

I look forward to hearing from you

Andrew
