Mary Lou | 2701 comments I've made a leisurely discussion schedule (between 40 and 50 pages a week) for anyone who'd like to join Peter and me for Bram Stoker's Dracula, a gothic horror published in 1897. This seven week schedule should take us up to the week before Halloween. Perhaps the book will inspire your costume, as it has many other people's over the years.

Moderators - have I set this up properly? Feel free to tinker if necessary.

Sept. 8 - chapters 1-4
Sept. 15 - chapters 5-8
Sept. 22 - chapters 9-12
Sept. 29 - chapters 13-16
Oct. 6 - chapters 17-20
Oct. 13 - chapters 21-24
Oct. 20 - chapters 24 to the end, with discussion of the book as a whole.

John (jdourg) | 1219 comments This sounds great. Count me in. I am unsure if I have actually read this book cover to cover, even though I have a Barnes & Noble Classic Edition of it.

Sorry but I'm on my way to Bronner's Christmas Wonderland and a few less important places in two days and won't be back for almost three weeks so I'll have to miss Dracula.

Oh, and Mary Lou, you mentioned somewhere not being able to post from your phone, that's what I'm doing now and it feels like a miracle since so often my phone won't let me. I don't know what is different about tonight.

Bronner’s. 😃 I’m glad some things in this world never change.

Peter,

I'm actually a little afraid about that, things changing that is. When I checked their hours a few days ago they now close at 7 pm instead of 9 pm. That cuts two hours off my time I can be there each day which I can fill with reading. But I can't think of any good reason they would have for having shorter hours. If Bronner's ever ceases to exist I doubt I could bring myself to pass the line in to Michigan again. It would be too sad. Maybe I'd build a wall. ;-)
