Oleander | 263 comments I nominate Matched to the Alien Prince (Matched to the Alien #1) by Danielle Forrest
Just kidding. Hmmmmmm. I'm very surprised that I don't have more in my tbr that fit the theme. Can't wait to see what gets nominated.

I'll go with Capital Bride (Matchmaker and Co., #1) by Cynthia Woolf

Merry (jewelhound) | 855 comments I tend to like this trope so here is one. I read the first in the series and this is the last The Courtship Dance (The Matchmaker #4) by Candace Camp

Yeah I read the first one in that series too. According to my review, it was our BOTM (for the matchmaking trope LOL) way back in Dec 2020. I did like it at the time, and planned to read more in the series but never did. So I would like to read your nom, and I’ll probably vote for it when the time comes.

I’m not sure what to nominate. I don’t know that many books with this trope, actually. I did enjoy Jane Feather’s matchmaking Duncan sisters series, but it looks like The Bachelor List has already won for October BOTM (twentieth century). LOL.

I searched for matchmaker books on GR, and came up with this one that looks like it might be a decent read. So I will nominate A Matchmaker for a Marquess by Christi Caldwell.
A Matchmaker for a Marquess (The Heart of a Scandal #3) by Christi Caldwell

Yes, this is a tough theme to find books for (where the author is eligible!!).

I will nominate The Matchmaker by Rexanne Becnel

Merry (jewelhound) | 855 comments I was thinking arranged marriage, but matchmaker is harder to find.

We can probably include novels where someone arranges a house party for the purposes of matching one person with another.

message 10: by Oleander (new)

Oleander | 263 comments I've got An Invitation to Murder in my tbr. The main character is a matchmaker, but I think it is more mystery than HR. The romance would probably be supporting characters.

message 11: by Maureen (last edited Sep 03, 2024 03:55PM) (new)

Maureen | 183 comments I would like to nominate these two books:

To Distraction by Stephanie Laurens
The Spare by Carolyn Jewel

To Distraction: the H MC asked his Aunt to find him a match (Bride)
The Spare: the H MC asks his friend to find him a suitable match

I am happy for this to be nominated

message 14: by Clarissa (new)

Clarissa | 45 comments Vivienne Lorret has a series called Misadventures in Matchmaking, there are three books in the series. All three may be applicable to this theme as the heroine in each book are Matchmakers. I think the second book may be the best fit. If it is suitable for this theme I would nominate Ten Kisses to Scandal.

ooo, good choice! I'd like to read that one too.
Also I nominate An Invitation to Murder since it has been deemed eligible.

Yes, that seems to fit the theme. I will add it as a nomination
