Ava Pennington (ava_pennington) | 4 comments As an author (and reader) of Christian nonfiction books, I'd love to hear feedback on the following 2 questions from other readers of this genre:

1. What is your biggest turnoff in a Christian nonfiction book?

2. If you like a particular Christian nonfiction book, what would prompt you to move from enjoying the book to recommending it to others?

Looking forward to hearing various perspectives from other readers!

Hannah Grace Staton | 7 comments This is a really good and thought-provoking question, Ava!

1. I agree that too many books are based more on pop psychology than biblical truth. That's probably the main issue with today's Christian nonfiction. Another thing is the widespread influence of progressive Christianity, which is closely related.

2. I think the answer will be different for each person, but for me, I'm most likely to recommend a Christian nonfiction book if it's well-written and contains lots of helpful insights grounded in the Word. Both what they say and how they say it matters.
