Thanks for setting up the October Challenge, Hilary.
Here's a pretty picture:

The October birthstone is opal. Opals are considered magical gemstones that provide good luck, especially to those born in October. Opals symbolize confidence, loyalty and are seen as representing hope, purity, happiness and faithfulness.

Thank you, I'm looking forward to getting back to this series.

I'm glad you liked them. And I always like knowing another audio fan. I was disappointed that only half the series is recorded. I have listened to all available but haven't had time to sit and read the rest.

I didn't know that they weren't all on audio! That is disappointing!!

October is commonly associated with the season of spring in parts of the Southern Hemisphere, and autumn in parts of the Northern Hemisphere, where it is the seasonal equivalent to April in the Southern Hemisphere and vice versa.
Several renowned poets and authors of the likes of Katherine Arden, Elizabeth George Speare, Henry Ward Beecher etc have quoted[2] October as the most beautiful month of the year.
October's birthstones are the tourmaline and opal.[3] Its birth flower is the calendula.[4] The zodiac signs are Libra (until October 22) and Scorpio (from October 23 onward).
