I’m confused about the 2025 prompt. Does that mean we’ll have the same prompt on both lists? I would rather see a close call added to one of the lists instead. Though these 5 are all very easy to fill.
Or maybe - A book that fits a prompt from the 2025 ATY list. So we could choose for ourselves. (I don’t think we voted for a second prompt … )
After we voted for the crime prompt, we voted on the death prompt that many people are using for murder mysteries.

Very interesting to see what prompts have gotten the most votes so far this year!

Emily addresed this in the 2023 results thread.
"The mods have discussed our 2025 prompt, and we have decided to use the prompt that has the highest net votes after all rounds of voting are complete! "
Thanks, dalex. Yes, the mods decided that by the time the polls are done, having another poll for the 2025 prompt would have been too much, and we wanted to keep the 2025 prompt in the same spirit as the other years' so we wanted to use a prompt from the existing list.
So yes, you would just read that prompt twice in 2025!

Oh, I actually thought you would be choosing the prompt with the highest net votes that *didn't make it into the final 2025 list* :o (My bad, I just went back and checked and you were, in fact, totally clear about it!)
I just hope it won't be the "fits a prompt from the 2016 ATY list" one, or we'll have a whopping three prompts from the 2016 list, each of which is a prompt that was not devised and workshopped by the group this year :/
I'm OK with this winning prompt, but it's not very exciting, haha. I have a HUGE "owned and unread" pile that goes back years.

OK. It makes perfect sense that the process is the same. I’ve been trying to read 3+ books for each prompt anyway this year, so I’ll be happy!

I think this prompt is definitely an easy one to make more challenging, if that makes any sense.

Yep. I always do the last page of Overdrive. Definitely difficult because there's generally a reason why it's still on the list.

I've not even filled it in with my planning for this year, I just figure either I'll do it at the end or use is as a shifting spot if I need to move something from its current roost.
I'm amazed it got the most votes!

Yes, this year I chose from the five books that have been on my list the longest. They all celebrated their tenth anniversary this year... It worked out fine and I'll do it again next year. I just prefer prompts that require a little more hunting or puzzling something out.

Haha, so true. One of the oldest on my GR tbr is Written in My Own Heart's Blood - a 45 hour long audio! I haven’t even read the Outlander book before it, which is just as long. I found both in my audible library, purchased in 2016.
I’m happy the prompt doesn’t require us to read the oldest on our tbr, but I’m going to try to pick one of the oldest books I own.

It should be nine, Nike, 2016 through to 2024. The list is on the ATY spreadsheet under 2025 plans at the bottom

Well, by the time you get to this prompt, you’ll have a lot more. Any books you put on your Tbr now will fit this prompt by next October.
I accidentally delete books from my GR records all the time - which is why one of my outlander books was added back to gr 3 years after
The later books in the series.
No one is going to check your tbr, so if you remember the books, you could still add them to your options for this prompt if you like. You can add a note to the listopia in case you forget later on why it’s there.
I’m also looking at my amazon and audible purchase records for a reminder.

Ok thank you, I thought we should celebrate the 10:th anniversary, thus an extra prompt.
Unfortunately I can't read the spreadsheet since I haven't got a computer. It's really difficult making the spreadsheet work on the cellphone.

There will be 10 prompts. We just won’t know what the last one (prompt from 2025 list) is until we complete voting for the 2025 list.

Aha, ok - thank you 🙂

There's probably books you think "always wanted to read that" when you see it. The prompt doesn't say GR TBR, it can be in your mental TBR too

TBR is not restricted to what GR lists. Many people have other methods of tracking/recording/storing books they have. If you say it was on your TBR, it counts. Don't worry about your GR list at all.

12. A book that has been on your TBR for over a year
We will announce the 2025 prompt when the final list is posted! I'll give you a hint though.
The prompts in the top five net votes (with a couple ties) currently are:
A book whose title has ten or fewer letters
A book that fits a prompt from the 2016 ATY list
A mystery or true crime book
A book by an author you enjoyed but haven't gotten around to reading again for some time
A book involving a "group" with at least 4 members that's not a family
A book connected in some way to any collective noun for animals
(Obviously, the final prompt could be none of these if a prompt in a current or future poll outranks these, but I wanted to give y'all an idea of what may make it)
