Challenge Rules
👻Books must be a minimum of 140 pgs
👻Rereads are allowed if more than 6 months
👻Audiobooks should be a minimum of 3 hours long
👻Books may be started before the challenge starts if they are completed AFTER the start date
👻Graphic Novels must be a minimum of 200 pgs
👻No poetry or cookbooks will be accepted

Hey all! Love the suggestions from Catsalive.

I'm on vacation this first two weeks but looking forward to starting the challenge.

I like Apparition Annihilators the best but I'm happy with the other two as well.

I PM'd Alicia but we need you two to weigh in on what name we want. We don't get tasks until we have a name.

Okay since that was a suggestion from Catsalive and two others like it I'm going to let them know that's our team name.

Library Ghost:

The team is called to the library to investigate a ghost sighting. Wandering through the library, you notice symmetrical book stacking, ectoplasmic residue on card catalog drawers, and bookshelves falling over. Knowing you are getting close, your team continues exploring the library. As you round the corner, you see a female apparition. She is an older woman wearing a purple dress. She is reading a book and obviously thinks you guys are too loud. She shushes you. You attempt to talk to her and she scares your team away. Your team needs a plan to capture her.

Tasks (Reminder: Each of you must choose a different task)
👻Read a book with books stacked on the cover
👻Read a book with a female MC
👻Read a book with a purple cover (min 50 %)
👻Read a book where a character visits or works in a library

I can do Task 2, 3 or 4 but prefer #4

I'd have trouble finding 1 right now but can do 2 or 3, prefer #2.

Unfortunately also prefer #2. On vacation and a bit limited on my reading options. On an all day tour right now getting back after 9 pm but will try to find a backup. Will be much more open once back home.

Slimer:

The team is called to the hotel to investigate a ghost sighting on the 12th floor. Team member 2 sees it eating. It is a small green, slimy, see-through ghost. You try to catch him but miss and catch the wall on fire. It takes off. Team member 1 sights it in the hallway and is slimed as it runs straight through him/her. The ghost is then found in the ballroom. Your team is making quite a mess of the ballroom as it attempts to capture this ghost. There are small fires all around the room. broken furniture and food is strewn around. Don't forget that you shouldn't cross your streams! That could be very dangerous! Can you capture him or will he get away?

I have to read #1 for other team challenge but if I end up with one of the other tasks that's fine too. I'll just read for it next :)

Could I take #4? I'd be struggling to find the others this week.

Having said that, I've just asked Donna if this is green enough, so I could possibly do #1 if necessary.

Subway Ghost:

Walter Peck forcibly shut down your facility's protection grid causing it to explode. This releases all the ghosts you previously caught. The Subway Ghost retreated to the Subway. It emerged at street level on Broadway and Murray st. While wailing and howling, it flailed its arms and mouth tentacles frightening citizens. Can your team capture him?

This one is up a notch in difficulty.

I can easily do 2- frightening (to me) tale or 3- TENTACLES.

I found a Walter book but it is 848 pages and I'm not sure how long it will take me to read it but I can do if we are okay with a slower turn around.

Explodes? I can make some guesses on witch or cozy mystery books but haven't found a definitive explosion yet.

I can probably do 1, 2 or 4, but have found a Walter book I can pick up from the library tomorrow, so I'll take that one unless someone else desperately wants it.

I just started one that works for explodes so I'll take that one but my next book works for #2 if Alicia wants that when she checks in with us.

A brilliant book. I'm so glad this challenge made me read it.

Just checking to make sure everyone is still playing with all this GR hoopla...

I believe we are all still playing - just waiting for Alicia to post her completion for our latest ghost.
