Challenge Rules
👻Books must be a minimum of 140 pgs
👻Rereads are allowed if more than 6 months
👻Audiobooks should be a minimum of 3 hours long
👻Books may be started before the challenge starts if they are completed AFTER the start date
👻Graphic Novels must be a minimum of 200 pgs
👻No poetry or cookbooks will be accepted

Library Ghost:

The team is called to the library to investigate a ghost sighting. Wandering through the library, you notice symmetrical book stacking, ectoplasmic residue on card catalog drawers, and bookshelves falling over. Knowing you are getting close, your team continues exploring the library. As you round the corner, you see a female apparition. She is an older woman wearing a purple dress. She is reading a book and obviously thinks you guys are too loud. She shushes you. You attempt to talk to her and she scares your team away. Your team needs a plan to capture her.

Tasks (Reminder: Each of you must choose a different task)
👻Read a book with books stacked on the cover
👻Read a book with a female MC
👻Read a book with a purple cover (min 50 %)
👻Read a book where a character visits or works in a library

I think the stacked books is my least favorite of the tasks, but I can do whatever task is needed. What do you all want?

I can actually do the stacked - I have The Overdue Life of Amy Byler that I need to read. I'll go double check it though because they books aren't precisely stacked...

I enjoyed that book!

Yeah, I commented back so we'll see. I also asked about graphic novels because I can't find any rules about it in this group. I may end up having to go dig for this cover now.

In my head, I saw the cover as a stack of books because that's what it looks like. It wasn't until I posted here that I realized they aren't touching... sometimes life is harder than it should be!

I can't even think of a book with a stack of books on the cover.

Found some books with stacked books on the cover. There may be some bookstore themed cozies with them, too, but book covers are tiny on my phone so I can’t tell which books are stacked or just standing up.

I have a purple book that I'm planning to add to a Turf Wars list for next round. I can do the purple task. Or I can do the librarian task.

You should get that approved. Tammie asked about a cover that was mostly standing up books but in the corner you could barely see a couple stacked on their side... Donna approved because she agreed they were stacked. This book has one laying on it's side (that I can see at least), so you might want to verify.

Also, Berit - I do still have a stacked book cover. It wasn't my go-to because it's #2 in a series and I haven't read #1, but I actually won't mind reading out of order. Just let me know.

Oops, I put that one in my post above of stacked books. It looked stacked on my phone but i just zoomed in and see they’re not actually stacked.

Yeah, I'm also a snakey from our old Hogwarts challenge about 10 years ago (!) so I pop into my fellow snakes to visit. Sorry for the confusion!

I love the covers for that series. I flipped through the Pumpkin Spice book (Book 1) at the bookstore and the font was pleasant, lol. I read the sample, too. It felt like it might be an average read. Entertaining enough, maybe, but not earth-shattering? The MC felt like she might annoy me, but I'm going to read the series because the covers are cute. I'm so easy! lol

Seriously Berit - if you're not invested in trying a new book/series, I'll take the task (assuming you can find something purple). I'm totally good either way.
