A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny with illustrations by Gahan Wilsom was published in hardcover, 1993.

A mass market paperback edition followed in 1994.

The 1994 UK mass market paperback focused on the animal characters.

The first audiobook was published on cassette in 1993 and was read by the author, Roger Zelazny.

Zelazny's reading is now available on CD and as an MP3 dowmload from Speaking Volumes.

Of course, it's available as an ebook from all the usual places.

And the book is still available in paperback. There are several editions. I think this is the latest.

If you have a lot of spare change lying around, you can probably find the leatherbound edition signed by Roger Zelazny which was published in 1993.

Don't forget the Audible edition, read by Matt Godfrey.

A Night in the Lonesome October has been translated into many languages too, so there's a copy for practically everyone.

Did I mention that I got a huge kick out of this book when I read it a few years ago? I think I posted most of this stuff in Discord, so I'm just covering all the bases and posting here too.

The cover for the first edition of A Night in the Lonesome October was painted by James Warhola. The painting sold at auction back in 2013.

I couldn't find an archive of Gahan Wilson's illustrations for A Night in the Lonesome October. There are a few images here and there online, but best if you enjoy them as you read the book.

Yes, it’s real. For some reason the newer version of the audiobook is unavailable on UK Audible, and the only available audio version is the CD with this horrible cover. It looks like something I’d have made back in the’90s for one of my home-recorded cassette tapes using pictures I’d cut out of magazines.

That CD one reminds me of bad PC game art from that era as well. The type that came only in a jewel case, and no box.

If only there were some sort of program that could create a better picture… 😆

It's called paying an artist.... Don't give it to the owner's nephew as a work experience project.

The illustrations are OK in the digital format.

First-gen photoshop at its best (or worst)! The sun is really beating down on the guy in front, despite being inside. But to be fair, somebody clearly worked very hard on that for at least 20 minutes.

I see absolutely no problem with the colour/exposure matching algorithm used for those obviously bespoke picture elements.

By "all the usual places" you mean only Amazon? It isn't available on Google Play... I haven't found it anywhere but Amazon yet... Still looking.
