An interesting and, to me, a new way of looking at the racial discord in America. Wilkerson describes racism as the skin and Caste as the bones of the inequities between groups of people. She highlights the similarities between the India's caste system with Nazi's oppression of Jews and others and with United States oppression of minorities based off skin color.

Sometimes, it is hard to differentiate the idea of Caste, Class, and Racism, but Wilkerson does a fantastic job in a nuanced discussion.

The most surprising and most interesting discovery for me was the Nuremberg Laws of Nazi Germany were inspired by the Jim Crow laws in America. The Nazi leaders studied how America kept a group of people oppressed while being the image of freedom.
