I would like to recommend Do Not Discard by Marlene Byrne ​for your readers -- an inspiring and timely true story about strength, faith, family and the capacity to achieve great things, even through hardship. From a tiny hand sticking out a dumpster in El Salvador to a young man navigating himself through DePaul University in Chicago, Sam's life is pure grace.

Sam's spirit of hope and perseverance is reflected in the thousands of children whose li​ves have been transformed by growing up at the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH) home in El Salvador. The name translates to our Little Brothers and Sisters and was founded in Mexico in 1954 by Father William Wasson. From a sing​le orphanage, NPH has grown significantly and today operates nine homes in Latin America and the Caribbean.
